I've tried to use the long weekend as a mini-break without the cost of an overnight's stay anywhere - especially given how much it has rained. I had 2 pub meals out over Friday and Saturday and yesterday I went to a pancake and waffle house and treated myself. I bought myself a new bra, some knickers, my first pair of jeans in years 'magic' ones from an MnS outlet. I really like the jeans they fit like a glove - soft and stretchy - but they will be more comfortable when I lose a bit more weight. I also bought myself a R0m*n top in the sale and a couple from K1a$$.
Saw DD very briefly. She went out in her car with Ex again which was good. Hopefully her next test will go better.
Other than that I've relaxed and listened to stories. I am almost out of meds - and because of the bank holiday the next lot haven't arrived yet. The prescriber apologised Friday and admitted he'd forgotten to order them. I therefore chose not to take meds yesterday - and won't today either. Sadly - it means the appetite suppressing nature of them has also disappeared and my weight has crept up 1.5lbs. I know it will come off quickly again once I restart the meds. Apparently a lot of people on these meds take a break from them at weekends anyway so all good. Despite the lack of meds I've had more energy than normal so pleased with that.
I'm hoping the weather will be kinder today. It would be good to do a bit in the garden. I may do some art later too. Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Fingers crossed that the practice DD is getting will help - I think essentially when I passed my test I'd just practiced enough that I could function under the panic of a practical test which sent me to pieces every time. She'll get there!
Annoying about the meds but lucky they are ones you can take a break from. Sounds like it was a relaxing weekend!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

It took me three goes to pass my driving test. Not helped by having the examiner’s examiner in the back seat on my first test! I failed spectacularly!! 😂 On my 3rd and final test I had a row with the examiner - so glad I finally passed 😉
Good to hear your weekend has been restorative and I hope you are managing some gardening and art’ing today 😊

I've had to spend around £30-40 on flea related stuff for the cat (should last 6 months) and spent a lot of time the last few days combing him with a special comb. I think he's reached his limit as he keeps running away now. It was half the price on Am**** compared with the pharmacy at Mr A. I'm sure the cleaner will love it when I add anti-flea spraying to her list of tasks tomorrow - preferably when I'm out! I definitely need to keep on top of cat anti-flea and lice treatments from now on. Thankfully downstairs is leather and wood mostly - but I think I should probably wash all the removable covers on the chairs in the kitchen - and probably my electric blanket. Upstairs - I've kept my bedroom and DD's door firmly shut - but he may have got in DS's room so as a minimum that needs spraying and I think he sometimes hides under the bed in the fourth bedroom I recently set up. So that room needs spraying too. I assume we need to spray the stairs and landing carpet too.
I didn't manage to do art yesterday but I did batch cook some delicious meals. Lovely cajun chicken and some roast pork with lots of roasties. That should last me a few days. I've had the heating on the odd hour over the weekend - it's been cold here - and I wanted to warm the house. Used the elec blanket occasionally too.
At lunchtime today I nipped to the post office with a parcel and returned one of the two pairs of trainers I bought. The return cost £4 - but even after allowing for that - I should get a refund of around £76. I was tempted to swap them for another but trying to tell myself to review - and see if I still want them in a month or two as spent way more than planned this month - and it's eaten into what I had intended to save for upcoming car bills. I'm expecting to need a new tyre - plus my car insurance is due in September's pay month and my mot in October's. I plan to book it in for a service this time as I didn't give it one last year so need to arrange that too.
I've now run out of my new meds and although they said they are dispatching them today - I don't know when they will come - and if I'm out I will need to rearrange delivery. I put 2lb on over the weekend partly linked to no meds which was frustrating as earlier in the week I was at half a stone lost. I'm hoping once I have my new meds my energy levels and my eating will be more consistent and improve again. I have so much work to do that there's no choice but to hyper focus. Worked over 2 hours extra today. There's no let up currently. Half wishing I had worked yesterday to get ahead. Found an email as I was logging off for something I'd been sent last Tuesday that was really urgent - so need to follow up on that tomorrow - and found another important email in drafts!
Tomorrow is busy too as I have a late morning hospital appointment - routine - but unpleasant. I've waited 18 months for it - but really don't want to go but I must. It's something I'd been putting off for a decade - but as part of my new commitment to self-care I've been trying to resolve. I've then been asked to physically go into work afterwards too. At least I'll come back to a clean and tidy home all being well. I found out today a colleague had been unexpectedly hospitalised which was a shock. Makes you appreciate what you do have in life even in the midst of chaos.
Hope all is well where you are. I'm going to try and make myself go out for another little walk.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
