Maybe if we new what the issue was with the product we could help you more.
If you google Morphy Richards you'll find there uk address, as for manufacturer its probably some manufacturer in China and I've no idea how you'd find that out.

  • They don't have to give you their manufacturer's details. That's between them and their suppliers.

Obviously nothing is going to happen with you complaining they won't give you information if it's not something they provide.

  • Hi Zoob, I sent the transcript to Morphy Richards but they did not respond. I thought they might be interested in how their brand was being represented by Argos. Anyway, the issue is likely a safety feature being over zealous as the microwave grill stops for up to 5 - 6 minutes even though it is properly vented without anything either near it or on it ! I also found that another person has commented same on a very similar older product of same brand on youtube so I included the link. I presume there must be some sort of override to key in to reset it to spur it into action. The thing is that it's very random even cooking the same meal it may time out sooner or not time out yet manage to burn it. Most times it times out before food ready and then eventually comes on minutes later making food chewy and not hot by time it's over. If I stop it myself say for example to turn food it's likely to time out quicker

I asked them would they ask on my behalf or get manufacturer or supplier to contact me, but they said no as it is made for Argos so they are the ones in charge of the customer support for the product. They also told me they only have the manual to consult and so could not help because it is not mentioned in the manual - isn't that just daft ?!

You would presume when buying if it is branded Morphy Richards then it will be counted equally to other Morphy Richards products. Otherwise it should be using in-house branding so it could be avoided prior to purchase
  • I'm still struggling to understand what the actual issue is.

Aside from the original query .... I don't think customers should be morally or legally treated like dirt.

The issue is that the grill works but times out randomly, & unfortunately usually when it times out it can be for 5 - 6 minutes although very occasionally it may if lucky come on a bit sooner like maybe towards 4 minutes later. The cavity is not hot, nor the food or surroundings in order for it to just time out. So food goes cold before it starts again to actually finish
  • If the product is faulty then exercise your consumer rights with the retailer. Going on about the manufacturer and stuff is just muddying the issue. What they are saying about them being the customer support sounds entirely reasonable.

Surely you agree that sometimes some customers should sometimes be treated like dirt, if they behave in a way that warrants it?  Not saying you did, but why should anyone be polite to someone who is being a **** just because they once bought a toaster?

What did Morphy Richards say when you did contact them?
