Well granma got moved to a secure nursing home today. She's said it's a nice place, but wants to go home.
Apparently she tried to leave, but staff calmed her down. I think the plan is to tell her the hospital have just moved her there to save a bed (she thinks shes due for an operation) and its just temporary.
Hopefully once she's been there for a week or two it will become more familiar to her and she'll settle.
I'm a little bit frustrated tbh, noone seems to want to come down to make sure she's okay. Uncle 1 lives abroad, so thats understandable, Uncle 2 has been sorting everything from the other end of the phone for months, everything has been left at his feet.
My dad and uncle 3 seem to have their heads in the sand & think things aren't as bad as they seem, and have just left everything to U2.
Uncle 3 came down today to take over so I was able to sleep in and rest, but that was after asking if it was worth coming down this weekend (I said yes, she'd like to see a familiar face). Then he tried to backtrack and suggest he might leave it as he had plans to come down next weekend anyway. He was essentially guilted into it when U1 & U2 said I needed a rest. "Oh I'm not trying to get out of it."
I'm mentally & physically drained. But she's safe and that's what matters.

The week has gone by and who knows what I've done, other than been fairly busy. Coming back from a friend's last night I dictated a list onto my phone (Mr N was driving!) so I've been working through that:
- Lake swim. Beautiful but getting a bit nippy at 7 degrees. Had coffee and cake with swim buddy.
- set up cc payment
- went through The Big Give listing what 'presents' I'm giving everyone; it opens on 29th.
- wrote some Christmas cards
- Tried to post flyparcel for the second time - first time they weren't taking any in as there was a strike and today I'd forgotten our local village shop/post office isn't open on a Saturday.
- went to 2 village Christmas bazaars; got a couple of presents, entered a few raffles, bought some food
- did a donation to the Christmas appeal for a charity we support, run by a village lady
- downloaded books onto Kindle and 'returned' others
- filled bird feeders. Filled bird feeder containers and ordered anything we are likely to run out of soon.
- did a bit of a report
- ordered London Open Gardens tickets for June as they were £7 off as a special deal.
- emailed friends who usually visit us to go to the open gardens in case they want to order.
- checked and amended church rota as I'm down for refreshments the weekend we're down at my Mum'sRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Raphael.. that is usually the case. When my nanna was housebound everything was left to 3 of her 6 children.. My SIL has always said she wanted to care for their mother when she needs it and now she needs it she is doing anything but. She moved in to look after her and has spent most of the time drunk/drugged, the house is not as clean as it was, her and her cretinous bf has ruined her house and in all honesty the only thing they are interested in is her house and money when she is gone, they are disgusting. We don't live close enough to look after her or do anything much really and if family don't want to help you can't force them. I don't think those who live away from the person who needs care really understand the difficulties of caring for a loved one. I am glad she is somewhere safe and I hpe she settles soon.
I refilled airers, refilled DW, refilled TD and refilled both WM's .. I am just drained emotionally and mentally.. alas the body does not react well to this combo and is very restless..
I will turn on the wm's and go to my nest .. which will take at least half an hour to dig out from under the laundry piles and stuff for pictures tomorrow..
And I got a hospital appointment today.. 7pm... the day is irrelevant.. it is 7pm... what is wrong with these people?
NN .. crisps and bourbons for the WAC.

(((Hugs))) to everyone who is struggling with overload atm.
Thank you for the bourbons, pigpen. They are my favourite and I enjoyed one with my early morning cuppa
I have spent much of the last two days baking and replenishing stocks. Most of the cakes and biscuits were destined for the church fayre, but some didn't get that farI also made a mad decision to go shopping at Merry Hell, but actually managed to buy the black trousers and a couple of other bits that I needed at 20% off and without venturing in more than 100 yards, so that was OK (but still exhausting, even at 10.00am).
Since waking up early, I have
- caught up with the news and emails
- written my list of aspirations for the coming week
- meal planned ditto
- tried to put up my light bridge and found that it isn't workingNow where did I put the spare bulbs?
Other things to do today:
- deliver candles to church (as if they haven't got enough already!!) and an Advent calendar to my goddaughter
- contact K, who came home from hospital on Thursday but says she is still in a lot of pain following her surgery
- DH is taking me out to the carvery lunch at the arboretum and has promised puddingI may succumb to the lure of a knickerbocker glory
- Rosie's walk (to use up some calories)
- write Christmas cards.
See you later on the new thread xxx

Morning all.
Dog walked and fresh brambles collected (for the leaf insects). I do wonder what people think when they see me in the streets snipping brambles with secateurs.
I have to pair a couple of tarantulas today, female was fed yesterday, so I'm hoping food isn't the first thing on her mind. Fingers crossed the boy will survive the encounter.
Just having some lunch & charging my phone (to record whatever happens) then its crunch time for 'Mexican Moses' (that's the boys name - hes on loan)

(((Hugs))) and healing vibes for Round.I think a Happy Birthday to Ionafan is due, so Happy Birthday! I hope you saved one of those cakes for yourself.Congratulations and well done to Miss Valli.I overdid it in a very big way on Wednesday (6k+ steps, what was I thinking?) and had committed to returning to the Foodbank on Thursday so I spent most of the morning there, but had to go up and down the very steep stairs several times which was not good news. Overdoing things is painful, so I'm looking for a physiotherapist to sort out a longstanding problem with my leg muscles that this broken ankle has exacerabated. If I could get that sorted out it would be wonderful but I don't think there's going to be a quick fix because it's a 30 year old problem.Cleaned the bath thorougly yesterday and the grotty grout around the shower. It's been bothering me for weeks and it's all sparkly again.Better is good enough.6

If I remember HB, you're in my sea-side city.
I've only been to the one physio, but it's been helping me, so I'd recommend my guy. £45 for an hour session (I go once a monthish)
DM me if you want the info.
