If the colour is not what it appeared to be as advertised when it's out of the packaging then you have a case in sending it back. I have never sent anything back before until last week. I was going to put up with what was sent and then I thought what a waste I'll never use it. I even felt guilty following the return procedure but it was accepted and off it went. Just do it you have nothing to lose.
As it was bought online the OP doesn't need a reason to return it.
Even if I just don't like the colour and have taken it out of the sealed box/etc?
Yes, how can you establish colour without viewing it?
In digital format there were pics of it as I have stated, thanks.
No, you're entitled to view the item.

Your returns (and everyone elses) for change of minds etc. mostly end up in the Amazon Warehouse to be sold again at a reduced price. You'll have no problem returning it at all - as you no longer have Prime though, you may be charged return postage depending on the 'reason' you select from their drop downs. I'd select 'Performance or quality not adequate' - as you expected it to be a particular colour and it's not. From memory on a non-Prime account that gives free postage return.

But how would you confirm that it matched the digital pics without opening it?   :D

Stop inventing obstacles and just return it if you don't like the colour...

Anyone in the future asking a similar question just ask Amazon, in my experience they have been great even on a few occaisons telling me to keep said item.

But if it isn't faulty you don't get a free return, the cost of sending it back to the retailer may need to be met by the purchaser.

Specifically with Amazon it can also vary depending on the item. Clothing often has free returns, other items they generally deduct the postage.
