After much reflection, I'm going to aim for
£450
again for December; at present it looks like I'll come in under that for November, but we've only had DD1 & BF here for half of the time. They're back FT for most of December, plus DS1 & his fiancée are with us for 3 days mid-month as they're off to Ireland for Christmas with her family. Not sure how many I'm feeding on Christmas day - possibly just 5, but maybe 7 - however festive food comes out of the Christmas fund, which I save for all year. We don't tend to go over the top with fashionable food or presents - never could when they were all growing up, don't see the point of doing that now! - but when all's said & done it's a feast day & feast we will most certainly do!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6 -

We’re back in - starting on the 10th as usual. After some thought I’m going to increase December to£250
to account for a general tendency to slightly higher than average Spendiness - however, Christmas dinner is NOT included in this budget!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Happy - and somewhat relieved - to hear that you're OK, @elsiepac! And thank you for keeping us all up to the mark - where possible!

Glad you’re ok @elsiepac
I’m in, £500 for December as per usual budget - we are at family’s for Christmas week though so thinking we can pay for a meal out from this instead of buying a turkey!Books read 2023 - 49/755 -
Please put me down for £120 for December
it seems my November budget might work too, but I'm anticipating more food will be eaten during winter break.
I'll probably do a £100 bulk shop, next month. I've started to shop using giftcards I buy using an app. I get cashback for the amount, any 4% is easy more than what I could hope for.6 -
£84.28 spent this week! 😳
£46.18 on general suff - needed to get some foil and top up my grandbaby's stash of jelly, apple juice and hula hoops as he's here for the weekend 😍 also needed some herbs & spices so a number of things within that figure which are not regular purchases plus I've bought 10kg of short grain brown rice at £38.10. The rice would normally come out of the bulk buy fund but I'm keeping it out of the main budget for now - I'll raid the bulk buy fund if I need to 😉
