I checked our readings at the start & end of the hour and we had reduced usage by at least 50% - we all sat in one room with one light on looking at pre charged devices or books. Every other light, tv etc was off so I don’t understand what’s going on. This happened twice now so won’t be bothering again!0 -
Been paid again (Thursdays session). How's the wind in the North sea with this cold snap maybe we'll see some events this week.0

Thanks for replies - I see, that explains why! I’m at work then so hardly use any and I’d say for a family of four we are quite low users. Probably not targeted at us really0

It's an experiment in shifting usage times away from peak hours and is for anyone who is willing to try and do that.
I'm on a Time of Use tariff already (with Octopus) so I'm used to setting the timers on the washer/dryer/dishwasher to make use of the cheapest time slots. I'll also use a slow cooker to make use of the cheaper daytime rates,Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Alnat1 said:It's more about how much you use 1-4 hours before the session starts.
Example, for a 5.30pm session, use plenty of electricity between 1.30 and 4.30 (cook lunch, run washer/dryer/dishwasher etc) and the payment is some calculation of how much you reduce this usage from 5.30-6.30.It hardly makes logical sense to do it the way you’re describing, either from Eon’s point of view or your own.1 -

If E.ON are doing their own maths over the top of it, we don't know how they are working it out.0 -
SparkyGrad is right and there is from my experience nothing to suggest eon next are doing other than follow the central formulae, and yes it does appear to overweight the in-day adjustment period.0

How do you opt in to marketing e-mails? Probably very obvious, but I can't see how to do it0
