Thanks for this thread changed my profile to half hourly readings and changed my marketing preferences.

Hopefully they will include us soon

I was invited to join the Eon scheme and have my first shift this evening.

It’s a very impressive project: I like how they are generating interest in saving power and dangling a reward in front of you.

I’ll just pop out for a walk for an hour at 5 and get my steps in a bit later than usual. Simple.

Eon next gave me very conflicting info via twitter they said you don't have to have marketing turned on or half hourly readings selected in profile

I suspect left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

Would I be right in thinking those most likely to have half hourly on their profile would have been those on older vehicle charging tariffs and solar?

without one the system won't work and without the other they would open themselves up to problems under privacy legislation.

The most likely people to have it on are the sorts of people reading this forum. Although the topic made the BBC news this morning.

That's another session achieved. Looking forward to the results. We've also found ourselves running in slightly lower energy use mode for the rest of the evenings. And yes we do timeshift our usage forward in to the in-day adjustment period, that just make sense.

Has anyone done this, thought they hit target and then received an email saying thanks for trying but you haven’t met target.

I checked our readings at the start & end of the hour and we had reduced usage by at least 50% - we all sat in one room with one light on looking at pre charged devices or books. Every other light, tv etc was off so I don’t understand what’s going on. This happened twice now so won’t be bothering again!

It's more about how much you use 1-4 hours before the session starts.

Example, for a 5.30pm session, use plenty of electricity between 1.30 and 4.30 (cook lunch, run washer/dryer/dishwasher etc) and the payment is some calculation of how much you reduce this usage from 5.30-6.30.
