I assume that if you are buying you are also wanting to do a quick check of that property before exchange? perfectly normal thing to do, so good that you have found a day that they can visit

At this late stage, everything should be clear re what is kept, what is going.
Having said that, I bet you like most buyers who are buying to have the property as their main home
will be stressed etc and may want to look again, measure and then plan with the confidence exchange has taken place.
Offer a time, a smaller time-slot to view and say very little, be clear in what you say and if you don't know, say so.
Also tell them that you have a lot on and would be grateful to work around the date/times offered.

Nothing ridiculous about seeing an asset that you are purchasing for hundreds of thousands of pounds one final time before you contractually oblige yourself to purchase it in the next week.

I think it's quite ridiculous that you think the request is ridiculous. "I'm happy to take any questions on email" and you haven't even exchanged yet! Extremely brave of you in the current climate.

I'm glad you managed to get a date booked in.

If a vendor wants to p+#+s off buyer then they refuse such visits.  If they wish to keep buyer happy they are calm, polite, helpful.

The "any time between 9 and 3" could be because that's the school day.

I think the wide timescale to visit from the buyer at short notice is a bit cheeky. No problem with them coming round to visit, but not everyone works from home and if you're moving, you'd be taking time from work. To then get a 'you need to take a day off so I can cone and visit but I won't tell you when I'll arrive during the day' is a bit much.

Hopefully the Sunday pm will be fine. You'll have daylight for them to view.

It would be very unwise to stop access since you haven't exchanged. They would be suspicious you are hiding something
