Can I ask how many savings sessions are left?
It depends on your supplier or who you have signed up with as they don't all take part in the same sessions.

Loop has 2 left unless there are any emergency events that we saw in January.

Octopus have 2 test sessions left, which if my memory* serves me, will be in March.
    * I think they were spread out, so there were going to be 2 a month, although someone may correct me on this.
Plus there may, or may not be live sessions.

Got to be unlikely there will be any more live session I would think. Crystal ball gazing.

Seems no IDA is the new norm for Eon next.
  • If I were to plug some electric patio heaters in at the correct times, could I pay for the electricity and then save money by virtue of the savings?

That would be a waste (unless you brought them inside and used them to heat your home), but you'd effectively be paid about 75p per kWh (assuming a 1 hour session) against the cost of running them, so it would generate a net gain assuming your meter readings were collected on time to be counted for the session.

Thank you, so my ridiculous example is plausible for someone who makes a hobby of working out the likely timings.

The mistake is you thinking it was your example idea lol

That's funny. I presume that others are thinking along the same lines. I was not inclined to read through the whole 78 pages in the thread.

As for me, I opt-in for the sake of a couple of clicks and do nothing to take me below base load, and I have made about £15.
