Has anybody actually received an email or app notification? I've opted in on the website but normally get the email and notification invites as well.

I did get one from the app pretty late last night. It even had the correct times on it, which were subsequently missing from the page when I clicked through.
The follow up email came through this morning at 8

  • Going to be interesting to see the results of this one - battery is fully charged from solar today, so unable to import any energy between 1:30 and 4:30 as well as in the session itself - expecting just a few pennies from this one.

Well the adjustment period has started, so the dishwasher and washing machine that have been loaded since this morning are now on. Their impact on the adjustment will be somewhat blunted by the fact there's about 1.8kW coming down from the roof, so it's only the last few hundred Watts required by their heating elements that will get imported. Everything else, including the cuppa I just made just comes out of the export.

Well that was hard work, two loads of laundry, hoovering, batch cooking with both ovens! Remembered that we had a portable 1 zone induction cooker from the Ikea's bargain corner, so that was too put to action cooking a barley stew for the whole 3 hours. Now relax with a cuppa well earned  ;)

Just wondering if anyone has received the streak (bonus) points for the last two saving sessions.
Received a bonus of 100 octopoints on 25 Jan and then the same on 26 Jan, though I wasn't sure what it was for, could't find the info on the website.

  • A fairly productive adjustment period here too - Full dishwasher and laundry loads done, whole flat vacuumed and mopped, did a good seasoning on a cast iron skillet in the main oven, and got some nice big frozen chicken portions pre-cooked for later on in the combi microwave.

Only been able to take part in a few sessions before this one, but my electric heating by far is the single heaviest lifter for the in day adjustment. It alone appears to generate around 10-15 pounds on the standard octopus payout, even with base average use for the session (before adjustment) being less than 0.05kwh.

Weather seems a little warmer today than it has been during previous sessions though which has most likely reduced the consumption on these this time. My base average usage for 5:30-6:30pm being a little higher than some other sessions may compensate for that though.

Haven't crunched the numbers in any amount of detail but a rough estimation has me looking at a potential reward of ~£20-25 for the £10 worth of of electric just used, which I'd consider a worthwhile endeavour.
    Moo…

That's the streak bonus, you get it for not skipping sessions. It does say what it is somewhere, but it's not there now. I'm sure different sections of the dashboard disappear depending on whether a session is happening/just happened.

Anyone else seeing Octopus' dashboard going a bit wrong this evening?
The top icon says I didn't opt in for today, but they're also calculating my points for the session. Ha ha, oops.
