Octopus Saving Session

Others have compared the graphs and charts and couldn't really see any unusual peak that could have been caused by the IDA period.
National Grid might have noticed Octopus customers seem to be gaining most reward but then again, Octopus customers are also most likely to be the ones with EV/Solar/batteries due to the specialist tariffs on offer and more able to time shift use easily.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

If it did become a problem that required action, it would be relatively easy to adjust the algorithm, for example by capping the IDA average to the max usage over the prior 10 days for IDA+SS period. That would allow for load shifting, but remove the incentive to use more energy than usual overall.

Octopus say that in 8 savings sessions so far customers have saved 804,000 Kwh, so that works out at approximately 100,000 Kwh per session. Octopus, I think, have 300,000 customers signed up for the sessions (or is it higher now?), so that works out at an average of 1/3 Kwh per session per signed up customer (or much lower if you consider ALL customers)
At that rate I'd be amazed if it has any significant impact on demand in the IDA period unless many more people sign up and a large percentage of those are prepared to put in the effort required (e.g. getting up at 5 AM to turn on all your appliances!)1 -

Sad I know but I have downloaded my smart meter data (from data.n3rgy.com) and tried to recreate the saving session calcs and am getting a different answer.
Baseline for in day adjustment period and saving period I believe should be the previous 10 working days excluding any saving session days.
Calculated saving is then (on day adjustment period use less previous 10 day average adjustment period use) plus (previous 10 day saving session usage less on the day saving session usage)
Has anyone else checked the calcs? Do we know if it is the company who are doing the payout (Hugo in my case) who do the calcs or is it done centrally and simply communicated by Hugo?

The provider does the calculation (or in your case, Hugo)1 -
My calcs have been close enough.

As you could have guessed from the two coal power plants but on standby, we've got an anticipated requirement notice for a LIVE event tomorrow.3

Be nice if its 90 minutes. I find sitting in the dark for 60 minutes not quite therapeutic enough ;-)1
