Yes that's right.powerful_Rogue said:Opted in for tomorrow. So 1230-1530 will be the magic time?
I really couldn't be bothered today, things didn't pan out correctly and the dishwasher ended up being run between 5 and 6pm as the darn delay function didn't work earlier in the day.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0 -
OK please correct me if I'm wrong but with reference to "being paid to do the ironing" and so on, if you use electric before the saving period, you still have to pay top wack for it , yes?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Within the in-day adjustment window, you pay whatever your normal rate is, and any you use above your average usage is rebated at the 1/3 the savings session rate for a 1 hour window, or 1/2 the savings session rate for a 1.5 hour window - providing you don't exceed your average usage during the saving period.ballisticbrian said:OK please correct me if I'm wrong but with reference to "being paid to do the ironing" and so on, if you use electric before the saving period, you still have to pay top wack for it , yes?

Where you say "any you use above your average usage" across what period is that average calculated? How did this information get out as I haven't heard it from Octopus?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Probably best you read the thread from page 1.ballisticbrian said:Where you say "any you use above your average usage" across what period is that average calculated? How did this information get out as I haven't heard it from Octopus?
The key period for tomorrow will be 12:30-15:30pm the period the equation calls the in day adjustment. Shift as much of your daily energy use to that period like cooking, washing, tumble dryer, hot water , charge the EV etc etc and you will notice a huge saving especially if you avoid using energy between 16:30-18:00.
It's all down to the nation grid equation.3 -
And hopefully we can help them save pounds not pence when they do.CanNeverThinkOfAUsername said:With all the media hype today i wonder if we will get posts from newbies next week saying how upset they are at only earning 12p etc.......0 -
You can't generate gas. It's either available on tap, or it's not. Using it will not cause a dirtier fuel mix: all of it is fossil-fuel.wakeupalarm said:Do you get rewarded on gas usage reduction as well or is it only for Electric? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Ok so I'm sorry if this is a repeat question (it's a very loooong thread) but as a newbie to this, how long after the 'session' do you have to wait to see if you have earned any 'points'?1

Usually at least a week, I'm still waiting for my points for the session on the 19th JanTheGardener said:Ok so I'm sorry if this is a repeat question (it's a very loooong thread) but as a newbie to this, how long after the 'session' do you have to wait to see if you have earned any 'points'?2
