Another tomorrow?.........Hmmm I'm running out of things to clean.

Might have to get the steam cleaner out again then and do the bathroom and en suite tiles. It's spring cleaning time come early, that's all  ;)

I’m confused about reference to using more electricity than usual in the hours before the saving session to maximise the amount earned,  as the info from Octopus says they compare normal usage at time of the session.  Am I missing something?

First time we took part in the session, I didn't know about the Adjustment period so we just switched off everything and went out for the two hours. The result was I saved about 60%, and was rewarded with 58p.

Today I used about 40kwh during the adjustment period, will switch everything off for the session as usual, not sure what percentage we are going to save but the expected reward should be just under £30....

  • Can anyone opt in for tomorrow's yet? I have today's on my online account but nothing for tomorrow...... (I also have no Agile rates for tomorrow too, so it could be a tech issue for me)

You won't be able to opt in until at least 4:30, when bids are accepted. But realistically it'll be a hour or two after that as Octopus have to process the confirmed bids and figure out the octopoint rewards, etc.

Bids confirmed. Octopus have way more usage in bids accepted at £6 per kWh than today, I suspect the octopoints paid will be even higher tomorrow.

I'm curious if the fact that this is "real" and not a test will impact on people's willing to "game" the system. Will you be maxing out the in day adjustment period in the same way as if it were a test?
Well I've just put the oven on and will get the ironing done afterwards. I like these as it makes me do the ironing! To get paid to do the ironing is brilliant.
I did a normal wash load + extra spin, followed by a 90 empty cycle to clean the machine. Can’t remember the last time I did that so it was overdue. Just managed all in the 3 hour slot.

I’m with you on the ironing. Been saving it all up, including 2 lots of new king size bedding. Took almost 3 hours but nice to be paid for it.
If there is another tomorrow might try a full oven batch cook.

Opt in now available for tomorrow. 3200 points per kWh (£4).
  • Opted in for tomorrow.
So 1230-1530 will be the magic time?
