Morning everyone, happy Saturday, just checking in although I don't really have much to report this morning so I'll just babble away instead! It's wet and windy here so I think a day at home today and I'll send my husband out to walk the dog
!! I need to pop to the shops and get something for dinner, no idea what to have though! We came close to ordering a takeaway last night but did a u turn and my husband when to shops and bought a load of veg and some diced chicken and I chucked it all in the air fryer and made a chive sauce, it was delicious, and a fraction of the cost of a takeaway, and we saved on calories too! We did treat ourselves to some garlic bread as it was Friday! I didn't go to bed until gone 11pm as I started watching a programme but didn't realise how long it went on for, I had to stop it in the end so I'll finish that tonight. We had to buy a new remote today as the dog chewed it, little monkey, it's been a good year since he last did that!! I think he was annoyed that we were all upstairs and he wasn't. Anyway, I think that makes it remote number 5 now!
One of the downsides to having a Labrador haha, luckily the upsides far outweigh them though!
I think that's all for now!

Morning everyone, it's a wet and cold day here today! Final DD left the account this morning for this pay cycle, payday is next week and I still have £214 (including the £60 buffer) so I'm on track for January! MPS.xNovember 2022 - £46,626.96 / May 2025 - £5,970.00

You're doing well with the surplus, that's fantastic considering how January usually is with finances
It's gloomy here and keeps trying to snow!

I know, I am very pleasantly surprised! I thought I'd be crawling to payday!! The reasons I've failed so many times before is giving myself a unrealistic budget, so I'm sticking to this for a few months, I can then maybe up my debt payments by £50-£100 a month. At the moment its working well for me and is allowing funds available for any unexpected things I need to pay for. I'll find out in March what my pay rise will be from April so I can make a decision then on what to do.xNovember 2022 - £46,626.96 / May 2025 - £5,970.00

Morning everyone, it is sooooooo cold today! I have about 5 layers on and I'm still freezing. I just checked my smart meter and the gas has already cost £5+ today and it's not even 11am!!!! I hope this cold spell is over quickly!!
Off to the vets this morning for annual injections, we have a plan so all his injections and flea/worming tablets are covered so I don't need to pay anything out today. I have lots of work to do today as well, and I need to grab some more, you guessed it, bananas!
My husband brought a £5 scratch card yesterday and won £15 which he gave to me so I've cashed that in and it can go toward next weeks grocery shopMPS.x

Nice little win on the scratch card there 🙌 my OH would’ve spent it 😂
Freezing here too, our meter has just ticked past £7.34. I’m getting a blanket rather than putting the heating back on!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25711 -
Good morning everyone, and a very happy hump day!! Had a nice little surprise this morning, the Lloyd's switch has paid out already so £200 better off this morning. I need to order a passport for my daughter and renew mine so I think I'll use some of the money for this and put the rest in my emergency fund. I'm undecided though as I have budgeted for the passports over the next few paydays, albeit it leaves me close to the wire, so I'm wondering if I should just send it all to CC4 and stick to this plan, I'll have a think today and make a decision 🤔 MPS.xNovember 2022 - £46,626.96 / May 2025 - £5,970.00
