  • ⭐ Well done on only buying the bananas.

Making a shopping list and sticking to it can make a huge difference in reducing our spending.
I second this! We always do a menu, then a list from that…

We usually meal plan and then write a shopping list, but every now and gain we don't manage to write the meal plan. This is one of those weeks 🙄 The freezer is well stocked, mainly raw meat and fish as well as home made batch cooked food, we have a full store cupboard and plenty of onions, parsnips and potatoes. I plan to go shopping tomorrow, below is my list. We will combine this with what we have in stock for the coming week and make a meal plan when we can. If we don't have something we will substitute with something we do have or go without. I will not be shopping again until Monday 16th at the earliest.

    Cabbage
    Carrots
    Pears
    Orange fruit
    Bananas
    Cucumbers
    Peppers
    Milk
    Cheddar
    Double Gloucester
    Frozen peas x2
    Eggs
    Flatbread
    Baked beans
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

We have Hello Fresh 4 times a week, just for me and my husband, I never pay full price though and switch accounts to get discount offers, we love it and it's something we do together in the evenings whilst chatting about our day. I did pause it for a while last year and tried to recreate them myself, but my shopping bill was crazy and I actually find I spend £20-30 less a week doing it this way.

You have just reminded me I have some chilli con carne in the freezer from a batch cook I did before Christmas!x

Just set myself up a Vinted account so I can try and sell some clothes etc.  My wardrobes are bursting and I probably only wear 20% of what's in there!! So lets see if I can make some extra money to go towards repaying this debt! MPS  B) x

I love Vinted, I find it much better than eBay, however people do send you lower offers so be prepared for that x

  • Thanks @LittleMissDetermined, I've only listed 2 items so far and I priced them higher than I want to allow for offers so we'll see how it goes!  I will of course keep you posted on my diary!

Hope your enjoying the sunshine, I've just got back from standing in a cold, wet and windy field throwing a ball for my dog for the last 50mins! Living the dream!! Haha! I jest, I actually really enjoy our trips to the field, there's something so calming and magical about seeing a dog running free and chasing a ball!  It really is the simple things sometimes. MPS.x

  • Afternoon all.  Nothing much to report financially today, it's all very quiet and uneventful which is fine by me!  Had a busy admin day though, I've managed to book in the dentist, my car for its service, the dog for his injections, purchased our holiday insurance, I usually wait until just before but then I saw Martin's article and that you should actually book insurance when you book your holiday! Opps, so this is now done, I got an annual Europe policy for the family for £63 and it had 22% cashback through TCB so not a bad deal at all. Had my shopping delivery this morning which came in under budget at £46, this is mainly due to us being alot more sensible with alcohol so I didnt add any to this week as we have plenty left over from Christmas which should more than see us through for a while!!  I think that's all for today.  MPS  B) x

  • I really don’t like January, so I’m glad it’s passing quickly! Another reason we like to holiday at the start of the year haha
