I posted a paper form to transfer from Vanguard which they received last Tuesday.

Since then, i have signed in and the transfer is not complete and there is no messages to show its been instructed.

What is the best way to get an update that it is being processed? Is there a way to send a secure message or do i have to call them?

    To answer my own question.
    • I first decided to send secure message which didn't get a quick.
    • So sent a secure message to Vanguard and they have confirmed they have not received a request yet (replied in a few hrs).
    • Phoned Virgin Money and after a 30 mins wait, got through and she confirmed they have received my transfer form as well as the other one i send end of last week.
    • However she confirmed, it has not been assigned yet and will take about two weeks for someone to process. They are currently on 1-Nov application...
    • Anyway the benefit of calling is she put a note on my account to make sure any interest is backdated to within 15 working days of them receiving the form.

  • For anyone who was following the sorry saga of my issues 522-528-532 transfers ....

The final ISA transfer from issue 528 to 532 (which was missed by the transfer team .... they only acted on 522-528...) happened on 16th November  - was promised backdated interest in the overnight update that night ... and promised a call back from CS rep.

No interest   .... no call back ....

Gave it until today, called again (ONLY a 40 minute wait today ....!) raised 3rd complaint ...

Accepted £50 compensation and backdated interest to 20th October to be paid 30th November for THIS issue,  but they wouldn't/couldn't pay a small amount extra to draw a line under the other two complaints, because they are with the complaints team who dont work Sundays !

5 weeks and counting from 1st complaint ....

Again quoting my own post  - with further update ...... (see bold above)

5 WORKING days on (which was the timescale I was given for payment .....) and £50 compensation still not received ......

Phoned again ....He wasn't able to tell me why or confirm timescales for payment.

Quick straw poll : Who has any confidence that they will actually calculate the
backdated interest and pay it correctly on 30th ?

another complaint due to having had to make yet ANOTHER call with all the associated wait times.

Can anyone remind me do Virgin pay interest during the day on last day of month or overnight?

So keen to check this interest and hopefully draw a line under the whole sorry affair ....

(Well, nearly - email to CEO drafted and will be sent when I know the result of the interest ......)

I think it was credited on the 1st with a transaction date of the 31st, can't remember if this was under the uncleared or future transactions tab or the main transactions tab.

    Just read your post.

My interest was credited to my nominated account early this morning (1 December).

I haven't checked but I am pretty certain it will appear on my Virgin ISA account as 30 November.

Interestingly, I popped in to my local Virgin branch the other day to have an impromptu chat with the receptionist person who greets customers as they walk in the door. I asked her why it is impossible to get to speak to anyone on the phone. She sheepishly explained that it was due to the volume of callers and the fact that branches are no longer accessible to telephone callers. When I quizzed further about the large head office Virgin Money has on the doorstep in Gosforth employing a large number of staff to deal with administration and back office matters, she replied that most if not all of them are WFH.

Without boring her with the details of my own frustrations about poor service etc, I also enquired about the time when my Issue 584 matures in 2 years, whether it would be simpler to come into branch to deal with the maturity options. She explained that this would be impossible as branch staff cannot deal with online accounts.

By coincidence, there was a same day announcement that our local High Street HSBC branch was being culled so last man standing is now Lloyds.

    And they call this progress!
