Thank you for organising the challenge and posting details of what it involves. As I posted yesterday, I am going to undertake the challenge but on £5,000 per year. I'm also trying to pay for next Chrimbo witrh free money. My sister and I have a challenge of trying to raise £1,000 each through the cash back sites, survey sites and any(!) other means. This year she managed to raise £300 from various sites. I have already raised £95.00: :T - M&S vouchers to the value of £50.00 through ordering a 'tea-bag' mountain at work, £25.00 cheque from 'that's life!' for a photo of my dog which made it onto 'Pet's Corner', £10.00 for completing a medical survey and a £10.00 Boots voucher from a lyalty scheme at work.
Looking forward to the challenge.0 -

someone point me in the direction of the 'grow your own' forum. I have a veggie patch and a couple of fruit trees in the garden for as long as the landlord lets us stay here
here it is

see you there:D0 -
Had a good day today. Third layer of papier mache on our cash cow and penguin. Not spent any money (for a change!) and got given about 15 tubs for freezing stuff in. So I've been checking out Black Saturn's thread (and others) to get my batch cooking on the go.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I recall way back in August this year I looked at my life and nearly had a heart-attack.
I'd lost my partner, my home and it looked like my job had had it too.
Worse still, I was more than financially bust - I was in debt.
It was such a nightmare situation.
Just prior to this hell breaking loose, after numerous mentions by others I had signed up for Martins Money Saving Tips and that eventually brought me to these Forums.
I surfed around a little, took heart, set a plan and felt hope return in place of isolation and helplessness.
I've done pretty good since
- paid off the ex way ahead of schedule.
- not once defaulted on my professional loan repayments
- in fact I've not defaulted on anything
but after Christmas (which was lovely - genuinely so :T ) things are a little tight and there's still debt and no savings and I'd like to turn that around.
Please and thank you.
As it's just me that I need to worry about, I'm not going to number-crunch first and see how feasible this is.
I am merely going to make it feasible.
So Dear All, may I please join this merry band - £4000 for 2008 (my social life is going to go to hell) but I am removing my travel costs as my only concession as they are huge and mandatory.
Please and Thank You

Hi! I would love to join this challenge but £5000 for us (2 adults, 1 cat and 1 puppy) as I have cfs and although I don't claim benefits (long story) have a hefty vitamin suppliment shopping list each month!;) but worth it as health is steadily improving. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

That's what I thought when I joined. Hence my higher target. However, now I find myself desperately wanting to see if I can come in £1000 under my target! maybe that Nat Trust membership will have to go. May set myself up a tart alert to remind me to review it before the DD goes out:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them.
