As ever I'm still trying to trawl my way through these post, as I don't seem to be able to get on here with my DS chatting to his school buddies! What on earth do they find to talk about.....he's only just left them?!

    Janey.....your mouse story was priceless!:rotfl:

I've had a good week so far as the only expense I've had is food which has amounted to, £23.48, and a DD that has come out of my bank for my Orange phone, £38.73:mad:

I have what is equal to almost three weeks of annual leave to take starting from Monday:j I am definately going to decorate my house! It has been left on the back-burner for far too long and I want to get things sorted before the better weather comes so that I can make some plans for my garden.:D I am determind not to spend anything as I have a shed-load of paint, tiles and wood to do the job. I have to make a bath panel as mine is cracked and cant be fixed, so if any of you frugalites can come up with a solution, I'd be grateful!:D
I have batches of fabric, as I used to make curtains and blinds for a living, so, window treatments will not be a problem. I will pick your brains though the next three weeks, so thinking caps on please:D ;)

I counted the money in my 'loose change' piggy on Thursday and decide to treat my BF to lunch! (Don't know what came over me)!:o
He's always treating me to drinks and meals at least one night a week so I thought I'd like to be able to do that for him. I deliberately chose the club as the beer is cheap and so is the food! (I'm not daft);) ,but it is actually very good. He said he felt uncomfortable with me giving him money to go to the bar so I let him pay for the last two drinks. I only spent just under £12 so not a bad afternoon out!

I'm dreading the council tax bill, but after last nights reminder from Martin on 'Tonight' I'll be looking for a drop in bands. Getting it, is another tale!

Janey, I sympathise with your situation and caving in, and totally understand why you did it, and I also think that 'tough love' is the best way you can help your niece now. Bailing her out only delays the inevitable process of her having to sort herself out at some stage, and possibly being in far worse trouble by then. Your time and advice are so much more valuable to her, and will show how much you really care in the long run. Getting her to listen and admit what's really going on will be the hardest thing, and as someone said, it will probably be incredibly frustrating as you don't have control over her actions. The one thing you can control is how you help her, and sadly, money is not the answer. Thinking of you and your niece, and wishing her the courage to start sorting things out xx

Done the costco run for the oldies, filled up car so that's £23.00 to add to totals, took DD for new bridle and succumbed to contributing to new headcollar and lead rope £6:o.
Lunch and tea now sorted from stores, bread chugging away in breadmaker and just having cuppa before I get stuck into rest of housework.:D Quite a productive day so far:D

FOTW I hope you have a great time on your trip to Scotland - wave as you pass through Dumfries & Galloway region :)

Sophiesmum, I have quite a few bridles, headcollars etc lying around the place but I can't bring myself to part with them, 'just in case' they are ever needed again at some point in the future.

Elantan, I really hope everything goes to plan with your helping out a friend - I have found myself hundreds of pounds out of pocket from doing the exact same thing for a close friend (of 23 years) I had. Several times in the past I bailed her out and every time she paid me back, until she moved a new BF into her house (stupidly, I paid the deposit for her house!). Since then, she has completely cut off all ties with her entire previous 'life', her parents, her sisters, her friends, quit her job, everything. I know I have lost that money as a result of her being completely besotted by this man (who is married with a young family!) but I still worry about what is going to happen if it all goes wrong for her. 23 years as my closest friend and she has cast aside everything for him. She didn't even KNOW her own mother had passed away until several weeks after the funeral. Money can be the root of all evil but people can become blinded by other things, too.

Janey, horrible as it seems, trust is something we all too often rely on and then find ourselves on the receiving end of something we hadn't expected or, even, invited. You can only do your best for someone but when it's family/close friends it is so much harder to step back and look at the whole picture. What is best for everyone concerned in the longterm? It sounds as though your sister may also be in financial difficulties soon so I really would tread with caution.
I reserve the right not to spend.

Hey everyone mojo just seen streaking south again closely followed by 2 haggis :rotfl:
No room for English mojos in this neck of the heather :rotfl:

Have to say...very impressive hurdling technique over the stone walls. Sheep looking a bit worried and the pheasants have discovered the ability to run in the opposite direction to a moving object :T

Ironing now done and have stardropsed the bathroom and kitchen:D washed floors and hoovered through. OH made himself useful by washing and drying bedding for me:D (use communal laundry so free electricity for drying) but his skills do not go as far as putting stuff back onto the bed:rolleyes:. Loaf is done:D Decided to use frozen veg for tea so no need to spend at farm shop today.
Even DD's room is currently tidy:eek: but this won't last long once she arrives home with her muddy boots and jodphurs and half the shavings from the stable:rolleyes:

We are having an easter fayre this week at work so might get around to making some marmalade and putting together some gift sets tonight whilst i am in a getting stuff done mood:confused: or I may just veg out:rolleyes:

Anyone got anything exciting planned for this evening?

Nyk - love Dumfries and Galloway area, we used to holiday in a lodge at Knockbrex , not far from Kircudbright/Castle Douglas. The coastline there is lovely and rugged.I love Scotland, we also stayed at a farmhouse cottage on the Isle of Whithorn which was quite remote - lovely.
I'd love to spend time exploring some of the smaller islands around the Shetlands and Hebrides:D (must add to my wish list)

    You've all gone Mojo Mad!:money:

Thought I was doing really well this month - till I realised it was only the 8th:tongue:
Still, 4 NSDs so far in March compared to 3 for the whole of February so hopefully I am doing something right - but I think I'll wait a little bit longer before I compare how much money I have spent
    Toodle-pip :hello:
