The cost of a year's prepayment in Scotland goes down in April this year to £48, with further reductions in following years. That would be why they suggested you hold off buying one now for £98.70
.

Elantan, I want to echo what Nyk said! And stick around, even if it's not 4k we'll all still be a lot better off
I had a pants lesson with Yr 10 this afternoon, despite having spent ages planning  Feel like I've lost my mojo; let's hope not!
Gotta go, hope people have a lovely weekend planned?The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good afternoon Frugal Friends.
DH and I have had a nice day trundling round the charity shops. I spent £3 on an M&S long chunky cardigan that is immaculate and £2.50 on a t-shirt.
DH thinks he is about to make a million as he bought a pencil drawing of Winnie the Pooh for £1 which he thinks is an original from the A.A. Milne books
If this should be so, guess it will be a "Can you live on £40,000 a year Challenge" :rotfl:
Last week he bought a book for 50p which appears to be selling for £30ish on Ebay :j
So why aren't we rich?0 -

bails just saw a mojo running across the lawn
Do you want me to chase after it? :rotfl:0 -
Wow! Go Janey and Janey's OH! Good luck with the drawing and book. We don't have any charity shops here, although I do visit the 'Sue Ryder Designerwear' shop in the next town any time I get to go there
Picked up a really nice signed print last year and hope it becomes a frugal investment. (It cost £4
)
Sleepless, thanks for the note about the prescriptions annual charges - I wasn't aware of that!
Bails... I'm sure your class went just fine and it was just that Friday effect you had mentioned. You can't possibly have lost your Mojo. I have a 'teacher' question of the grammatical kind needing answered, perhaps you can help me out here. Is the word 'scissors' classed as singular or plural?
Would one ask, 'Where ARE the scissors?' or could one just say, 'Where's the scissors?' As 'scissors' ends in the letter 's' but relates to a singular item, yet known as a pair (does that consist of one scissor linked to another scissor?), I find this confusing and couldn't decide on my answer. (Thinking up silly questions is classed as free entertainment in my book, although it cost me the price of a MacMillan encyclopaedia back in 1984 because there were so many answers needed :rotfl: ).I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Nyk It's definitely "where are the scissors?" because as you say scissors are plural.
Elantan Good info regarding the Scottish prescription charges. Doesn't benefit me though. And if your OH has already had 4 items, or will do before 1 April, he still should have bought a 3 month prepayment certificate.
Mumzy I love cauliflowers but they always seem to be expensive nowadays. <-- sign of getting old, eh?0 -
Hello peeps, was just updating on the posts in the grocery challenge and felt compelled to point out a particular post and say that I must now find out more:
