Today's been a NSD for me :j and here's my low down for the month:
Total Spends for Jan: £244.38
meaning that I have £3,755.62 left for the entire year.
This equals £11.24 per day,
OR
£341.42 a month
Wahey, I feel so positive today. Although obviously, things could drastically change before too long :o:rotfl:Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do with a huge red cabbage?
Hi Jumble-Bee! You can pickle it, or you can bake it in a sweet-sour sort of way - my friend whose OH is German does a very fancy version of this, but basically you only need some vinegar and something that's sweet, could be sugar or honey or raisins or a combination. Slice the cabbage into a casserole, add your chosen flavourings, cover and bake. Some people put cooking apple in it to keep it moist and I think this is an improvement. You get a sharp, fruity-tasting red veggie dish, nice with sausages, but make sure it's cooked long enough or it comes out tough and 'orrible. If you don't like sweet/sour combinations you could just grate it up with carrots and make a red coleslaw.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

...The snow and gales should have discouraged me from going out but... I am going to settle down in front of the TV, log burner blazing, cat and blanket on my knee, cake and coffee, and watch "The Tudors" on DVD (free Mr T trial for 3 months:D)
Any bets on when the power goes out
About 6.30pm this evening, just as my potatoes were boiling, whilst I was in the cupboard under the stairs folding towels and waiting for very late dinner to cook! I was "oh so organised", NOT!!! Couldn't see a thing, couldn't find my way to the matches or lighter, had left my mobile upstairs (it has a torch) and I quit smoking, so haven't a clue where my lighter is :rotfl: :rotfl: Why does it always wait until it's dark? I mean, I had to GO OUT today (work related, not to spend) and it was the 45 degree hunchmarch into horizontal snow and hail! YUK!
I'd to make cheese & tomato sannies for tea and just sat down to eat them when DING! Power's back! How unfrugal... we ate the sannies and then had dinner!! Eat drink and be merry for tomorrow I may diet!
Flasks now filled, hot water bottle filled and tomorrow I WILL get the emergency box restocked! Fortunately, we always have plenty of candles and I have camping stove pots that I use on the open fire. Trouble is, I've moved house and got no open fire until the chimney's been checked and swept! I just never got around to it yet!
I'm half expecting the power to go back off tonight as the galeforce winds haven't let up for 2 nights now! I guess that's one way to save on electricity! Wonder if you can run a laptop off a car battery? :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Waist

Top of left leg

Left Calf
Right Calf
Left Ankle
Right Ankle
Left Arm (top)
Right Arm (top)
Left Wrist
Right Wrist
15 numbers in total, add them all up and it should give you your 'figure'. There were so many to choose from that it got confusing, sorryToo many wobbly bits
I missed out knees but I don't think that'll really matter as it isn't a weight loss diet or anything. Let's just agree that if our legs can bend & straighten then our knees are OK for now.:rotfl:
Jumble-Bee, I've added your name to post 1, will update it to £2008I reserve the right not to spend.

Let's aim for a frugal February and, if you're a frugal fitness club fan, remember a few extra exercise points need to be earned in order to fill your face with pancakes next week. Yum! Mine's sugar and lemon juice, pleaseI reserve the right not to spend.
