  • Hopeless_Spendthrift - Thanks for your thoughts. I feel a little bit better, but I made it through my first lesson and survived! The kids were great and they all got on with their work and I even got some lovely smiles from some of them (and as they are year 9 I was very impressed with those). Personally I like seeing everyone's breakdowns of spending!

Whitewing - Wow! I can't believe how early you were on here, that is so impressive (and slightly  )

NYK - Please write the frugalite dictionary, that would be fab.

Bails - Congrats and GOOD LUCK for tomorrow, you'll be great :)

Affordmylife - I am so impressed with your grocery budget. I really need to cut mine down a lot more. Can I ask how you did it?

I spent a total of £6.60 today because I had to get the bus back as well as my normal train ticket.

Ok, I have a moral dilema from this morning :o . On my walk to the station at around 7am, along the dark, cold and deserted streets, I happened across a £10 note on the ground. I couldn't see anyone about at all, and I picked it up thinking that I may see someone at the station who appeared to have lost it, or hurrying back in that direction. I didn't. So, now I have a £10 note in my purse which I don't know what I should do with it. I feel guilty looking at it, but also don't have the time to traipse down to the police station. What would you do (honestly :p )?

I will keep my update short :)
The end of my first month is in sight.I have no more coming out the bank and my groceries are upto date.
My total spend for this month is £155.00 Groceries, £132.02 Essential bills and £191.50 others.making my total spend £484.52.I'm about £20 over my total monthly target but this doesn't worry me.
My "others" total is the one I'm going to try and get down this month.I did have alot of birthdays to buy for so hopefully February will be the month to save.Kids clubs are paid up til Easter too :)

Lollopybear, you could always give your local police station a call and say you have found some money but can't get to the station. I THINK that if it's unclaimed after something like 10 days then the finder is entitled to keep it. Stick it somewhere safe just in case it does get claimed but few people I know would report it lost. :)

For those who can make use of scrap wood, try local picture framers, carpenters and joiners - they always have spare stuff lying about. (Mine comes from a framer :) )

Mollymop, I'll go to the [STRIKE]new thread here [/STRIKE]and add your name and that you are opting for the Free Cycle. I'm scared to measure up to find my figure!!!

EDITED IN - It got struck off!  Apparently, I'm not allowed to have both the threads because it's seen as duplication
You aren't allowed to copy a post into a different thread. I guess that's me had my 2 warnings, does that mean third strike and I'm out???

  • Hi
For anyone who has easter eggs to buy, DD went to asda tonight and they are selling the big eggs for £1 each. Creme egg, flake, rolos, smarties, kit kat chunky, etc. They are the size that have two packs of rolos etc and an egg in. She got me 7 so thats mine got:D Happy to pay that much as I think they have always been overpriced for what they were.
Might help someone with their spending challenge:confused:

I'm not allowed to have the thread - the MSE forum police deleted it and sent me a PM telling me wasn't allowed the second thread - it was seen as duplication and that is NOT allowed :( I guess the Frugal Fitness Club will have to be kept in here.
