  • Yes, I know it's not exactely money saving but has to be done, we bought out last bed over 10 years ago and it's a small double on it's last legs. The boys are 4 and 5 and seem to think they have a claim on it so either me or the hubby keeps getting booted out in the early hours of the morning!

,,,,and the cat likes his comfort too!

Anyway, as it's sale time we decided to buy a new one from Argos on their 6 months free credit and pay it off within the 6 months so to avoid paying the interest, (and cut up the card when it comes through the door).

Should it come out of your challenge? Hmm.... if it was me, then I would need to take it out of my challenge money as I'm going on the assumption that £4000 is all I have to spend. However, being a CC tart, I think I would opt for going through a cashback site and getting £22.50 cashback for signing up to a new CC. Then, I'd find the best deal for a bed, hopefully through a cashback site, pay for it with the new credit card which, coincidentally, pays 5% cashback and then pay the entire balance off before any interest was due on the card. :D But that's just me. You could also put it on a 0% interest card if you aren't using it for stoozing :rotfl:

I bought one the interest free way last year in the Argos sale and I paid it with a Tesco CC - so I got interest free credit and Tesco points :T
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
