  • I've just realised the girl in the CO-OP gave me change from a £10 when I gave her a £20. . So mad at myself for not paying attention.

Go back with your receipt and ask them to check the till. When they cashed up that evening they should have had £10 over.

If you don't ask you won't get it back, if you ask then you might.

I went back to Mr T's yesterday as I was overcharged 52p!!!

    Good luck.

Brilliant progress all of you! Don't beat yourself up if you're not quite hitting the targets you've set yourself. The monthly costs will always vary and you need to remember that the challenge is spread out over the whole year not just one month.
I hope Queenie doesn't mind me sharing her tip. She sets up a pamper box full of little treats for yourself for when you're feeling down and the urge is just to go and blow the lot. Mine has a small box of After Eights in it [Chrissy pressie], a bath bomb [Chrissy pressie] and a bottle of scented bath oil which I got as a freebie with an online order. Perhaps it would also help to record some coping strategies...if I am on a downer I want to spend money to treat myself. For me it means books and magazines. To keep the spending in check but also feel I've treated myself I go out with only a couple of quid [no bank cards:D ] and if I want to buy something I hit the charity shops or buy a pretty card or beautiful ribbon/thread/rainbow pens. Whatever small item catches my eye. The other thing I do is go into Waitrose and pick up their freebie mag with the recipes in or the supermarket free recipe cards and then I hit the library and choose several books with beautiful illustrations [no DVD hiring on these days] so I can sit and look at them. It gives me a great deal of pleasure. Whatever works for you really!

Thats a great idea Aril.......I know Im going to have a struggle when i get paid at the end of the month..cos I'll want to spend....spend spend........

and thats what Im goin to do....rather than go to mainstream shops |m goin to go to the charity shops, hopefully that will satisfy my urge to treat myself

Why didnt I think of that????.

    Thanx for that tip Aril

make sure you're not hungry when you go ........we went to the one in Silverburn just before Christmas......The choice was Tapas or Sushi and as OH was paying I let him decide.....wish Id went for Tapas!!!! The Miso soup onece you've paid is free refills I had FOUR.....

It cost about 14 pounds for the 2 of us, 2 wee sushi rolls for starters and the hot chicken.....and my MISO soup!!!!

fill up on the miso soup....... and go for the hot selection its a wee bit more filling, not much though. Persoanlly I found it a big waste of money, ok for a lunchtime snack while shopping, but be aware of the colours of the bowls , that adds to the price. \sorry dont mean to spoil your day out .....hope you enjoy itXXX

its ok hun you havent spoilt it - its a favourite place of ours for a treat while we are out but the last time there it cost 3 of us £57!! Thankfully i had a credit note for £40 from a complaint i lodged so it wasnt too bad but im thinking tomorrow it will be a quick flying visit! :rotfl:
