Thanks for the tip regarding COP name used Vanquis Bank Limited and got a match
Cheers Steve0 -
Got the first letter today, awaiting the second with the authorisation code.
Seems a little antiquated to me (multiple slow letters through the post instead of online), but so long as I still get the 4.6% once I fund it all will be well.0 -
I'm surprised some are trying something other than just Vanquis Bank Ltd in thd "payee" box.1

Just wondering if anyone has a sent a small test payment have had any success reaching account?
Or does payment have to be at least £1000 ?
Thanks0 -

Not really - the instructions online say the beneficiary should be "Vanquis Bank Savings" whereas the welcome letter says it should be "Savings - Vanquis Bank Ltd". I used cut and paste (from the online instructions) to fill in the details for my payee setup so I got a warning about the mismatch in the name.

Today I've received a letter confirming the receipt and size of my deposit, my account number and the rate - which is what I expected, 4.89% gross/5% AER, and I made the deposit after the account had been withdrawn from Vanquis' website.0

Probably because Vanquis specifically told them to put "Vanquis Bank Savings" following the online registration, but then to put "Saving - Vanquis Bank Ltd" in the letter that followed. Both of which would have too many characters for the payee. So perhaps not surprising some were confused.westv said:I'm surprised some are trying something other than just Vanquis Bank Ltd in thd "payee" box.
I put Vanquis Bank Ltd because that's the name of the company and is short enough.

3 year fixed opened this week.
Paid a £100 test transaction yesterday (Friday) and then realised about the minimum funding.
I decided to pay the full amount in two further transactions (2x 2500).
Had three emails this morning (Saturday) confirming the money had been received and deposited - my balance is 5100, so the test transaction has been paid in rather than returned/rejected.2 -
Applied and accepted on the 7th. Account showing as opened on the 8th. I will send 1k to ensure I've got the 4.6%. Very irritating that the interest rate is blank.Ade99 said:The 4.6% rate is now showing on my dashboard so hopefully it will be the same for those people also waiting for it to appear.
Opened account on 7th Nov. Funded it on 10th Nov. Funds first showed on 11th Nov.0 -
To test payment details send £1, after a day this will be rejected and you will get an email confirming rejection of payment and that it will be refunded to the same account paid from. This confirms your details are correct and can go ahead and make the main payment . I had the £1 back on the 3rd working day1
