cigarettes haven't gone up - thank god!
Just waiting for the budget, probably be eye watering because they can wrap it in "health" and thus a good tax

    ex smoker BTW

I suspect your going to be right as they need top stop making them seem affordable. i was reading on the tobacconomics website that due to wage increases and non-tobacco inflation, cigarettes are cheaper in the tax year 2022-2023 compared to 2020-2021

I was listening to BBC radio 4 today and they discussed food prices post Brexit and they were suggesting Brexit has been causing food prices to increase year on year for the past 3 years.
They would wouldn't they? Seems Brexit has also affected food prices in the USA as well, very odd ;)

They discussed the effects of labour shortages, the distance food has to travel, increased energy prices, something about fertilizer plants having closed down, shortage of CO2, lake of foresight with regards to Climate change, Foodborne viruses, antimicrobial resistance, inadequate self-sufficiency levels of some countries i.e. 85% for beef, over 100% for lamb and 54% in fresh veg along with 16% with fruit in the UK. They sounded like the Maoist party.
