  • Wow! so many new members of the challenge this year, amazing 😊 It must have something to do with the Advent Calendar 😍

I have updated totals where they have been given and I have allocated lots of number, sorry it's taken a while I don't know where the time/days disappear to sometimes!

This year funds have been a bit tighter than usual so I have scaled back a lot.  I have made smallish stockings and put sweets and small toiletries in for family members. For my grandchildren I have spent a bit of money on them. For the youngest though I bought her a second hand toy kitchen and bits and bobs added to that. They have also been growing quickly so I have also bought some second hand bundles of clothes for them.

I have a few bits left to wrap this evening and then tomorrow I shall start on a bit of food prep.

Hope everyone is nearly done and has time to enjoy Christmas.
Thanks for updating and I am looking forward to having the lump sum to play with for Christmas next year.  Most of my funds went on my grandchildren too. I wrapped up the last few presents tonight and have been entertaining visitors today.  Party here tomorrow for family so festivities definitely started around here. Cooking tomorrow to Christmas music in the  morning.

Quick update. Up to £71 now as I put £50 in to start (£25 for each grandchild). Since then SO quietly transfers £7 each Monday. Haven’t missed it so far.
    Happy Christmas everyone.

  • Hello kdalwayskint et al

I've lurked on MSE for 10 years now but only occasionally made random posts. So now its time to commit to some challenges to keep me focussed next year and what better one to start with.  May I join please?

I tend to save up what I call "funny money" in a savings space in my Starling account and when it gets to £100 I transfer to a savings pot.  So I already hit £100 a few days ago to start this off made up from Prolific, Quidco,TCB, Shoppix, HuYu, Storewards and, the occasional eBay sale and any other bits and bobs.  I also count Airtime Rewards as cash when it credits my phone.  I had an empty Marcus savings account so plan to pay into that so its all in one place.

Count me in for £365 but ideally I'd like to double that by this time next year so perhaps call it £730 and I'll try harder!

Looking forward to this and getting my number please.
