Do you use Credit Card or Debit Card for all day to day spending?

            I use both.
I have a NatWest Rewards credit card and account so I get the rewards from that and another 4 credit cards split across 3 bank accounts ready for switching/Barclays account.
I also use Chase.
All cashback/rewards earned I add to my savings accounts.0 -

How about a 5th option:oldagetraveller1 said:How about a third and fourth option - "Both" or "Neither"?
When you're spending, which of the two do you use & if you don't use either, maybe you use cash or whatever, then perhaps 5a. someone could create their own poll with more options
Or a 6th option:
Someone could say this question isn't applicable to me so I'll move on to the next thread.
So many options

Tend to use chase for smaller purchases, then stooze everything else on 0% credit card earning 4-5% interest0

I use my American Express credit card because it gives me Avios points. I've saved up over 125000 Avios which I've just discovered I can exchange for Nectar points & which have a value of £900. Happy days.1

Or you could pay ctax by DD, get santander cashback, at the same time saving the taxpayer money.username said:Credit card for everything that accepts it, paid in full and on time. Would rather get points/airmiles of some sort rather than nothing if I paid via a debit card.
It's a shame that my local council (in one of the top 10 wealthiest areas in the country) insist on debit card only payment for council tax, claiming the cost of credit card transactions. Yet it has still cut services and have slowly crept up charging times and amounts in its car parks, removed a lot of public bins etc.
Looking briefly a lot of councils accept either debit or credit card with no fees or restrictions, so I guess they need to get a better negotiator or card merchant agreement.2 -
            A charge card0

0.7p per point isnt a great cashout rate... not sure why you'd collect Avios if you prefer Nectorsubjecttocontract said:I use my American Express credit card because it gives me Avios points. CC for more than 25 years unless the amount is over several thousand pounds as non of our cc's exceed 6k.
We use cc's as we feel safer and easier to track daily spending and you have more protection. These days there are hardly any rewards of note so used purpely for our protection and ease of tracking spending.
NB: We have never paid a penny in interest to a CC company.0 -
            Option 3 - both.
