Tempted but you have to wait till Jan for your cash?

Plenty of people have taken advantage of NatWest/RBS offers. This one is better than the past incentives which have made you wait 6-12 months in some cases! Better get onto it quickly, as the offer ends tomorrow...

And yes, they do do a hard credit search.

So does the hard credit search eliminate serial switchers ?
I understand they use Equifax and National Hunter

My husband used that offer and received a Natwest switch bonus as soon as he got paid a salary.

A single hard search in isolation isn't really a negative IMO. The impact (if any) diminishes after a few months. Most serial switchers will have exhausted all the options available anyway, so they will be unlikely to be applying for too many current accounts in one go.

Of course you should avoid any credit applications if you've got an important credit check coming up (eg. mortgage, loan, etc) but outside of that, it's not really worth getting worried about.

I've gone for it and believe I've jumped through the hoops so await my £175.  I am a bit of a serial switcher and generally find that other constraints, e.g. you can't have recieved a switch bonus from X bank in the last Y years or the need to have 2 active monthly direct debits usually keep me from doing it with too many banks in too short a space of time, I've never even considered (or had an issue i've known to be caused by) credit searches before.

    Just do it.  Free money!
  • Anyone received it yet? Someone on another thread had a switch complete in September and had been paid the £175 already. My switch date was a couple days after but still nothing.

  • We signed up for Natwest on Wednesday 2nd November and did the ID verification straight afterwards. Still, no confirmation that the account is open or the switch is going ahead - and it is past 5pm Thursday deadline now, so I am wondering if that means we can't get the switching bonus? Is anyone else in the same position?

Yes my husband applied on Monday 31st he only got the email saying he was signed up today and his switch is going ahead . He did have a temporary account number and sort code with a reference number given to him when he applied online on Monday . He will get the bonus as he applied before the cut off . Hope this helps
