Of course @Sue-UU we live in very costly times.  Vet’s bills can be crazily high and they know we will pay whatever is needed for the comfort of our much lived pets.
Well done for potting whatever you can whenever you can.
Ive paid some travel savings to my pot. Will likely declare a little early so I can make a small start on next year’s potting.
Found another 20p roadkill which all helps

I have just been scrabbling around in my purse to see if I had any loose coins I could add to my pot- I found £2.21, including one of the "old" round £1 coins. Safely potted.

Hello everyone, just wanted to say I have still been potting, just added 80p, and boy will I be glad of the money for Christmas.  Been a challenging year financially but nothing I can't handle luckily just not as much going "spare".  My son is now having some additional therapies for his learning issues but these are local so no more 250 mile round trips, just a bus journey.  He is due to start secondary school next September, eye wateringly expensive branded uniform, daily bus fare and money for food to be found.  As he doesn't' know about budgeting and money (just because of his learning issues rather than me not trying to guide him) the money on his account for lunches will be tricky; additionally they don't get lunch until 1:30pm so he will be starving!  Ah well all part of growing up I suppose.

    Hi all.
Just dropped by to have a catch up.

Hope you and your husband are doing okay @MrsShazbat, hugs to you both.

£14 for my tin this week, the council seem to have stopped taking their weekly direct debits. I think this must be because I got too far in front with my tax bill and have actually paid it off. So that's £14 in the tin.

I fancy a Christmas break somewhere this year, European Christmas markets? I don't know. Never been to one. It will be the first Christmas I have had without my Mum and I whilst I don't mind being on my own, I'll need to keep a bit active.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a nice weekend. @Sue-UU. I've made a note on my desktop about declaration day, I think I was late last year? so I've no excuse this time :)

    xx

Hi SPCers! I hope you've all had a really good week and will now enjoy a very good weekend.
To any of our members out there who are feeling poorly, or low in any way,
please get better soon. Get well soon. Love & best wishes from us all. ❤️

Thanks so much for your understanding Ant. After listening to the news earlier, it seems as though it's set to get worse with car fuel prices rising again, cost of living too and putting the blame on Russia! So look out.
The fairies are being good to you with another 20p find! 😯
A good idea with the reason for declaring early, I hadn't thought of that. 😉

An excellent scrabble for you Saver-upper, £2.21 brilliantly potted! 😯

Hi Hetty, good for you in keeping potting, thank goodness we do too!
I'm so pleased your son is having additional therapies for his learning issues and thank goodness they're local to you!
I'm pleased he's starting secondary school next year, but by golly that will be jaw-dropping with the cost of uniform, plus bus fairs! 😯
You said he's unaware about budgeting etc, but I know a few years ago Martin Lewis campaigned that the curriculum should include lessons about handling money before youngsters left school, by golly that would be tiresome these days! 😵‍💫 I've no idea if he was successful or not.
Their lunch time of 1.30pm is extremely late surely! When I went to school 'dinner time' (lunch was at 10.00am) was always 12.15! He'll most certainly be starving poor lad!😜😋 All part of growing up as you rightly say.
    Take care.

Hi jakes-mum, so a lovely £60 potted from Vinted, very well done indeed!! Keep on clearing out so more potting can be done! 😂

More potting for you James, good for you!
Re the council not taking your monthly (not weekly) direct debits, I think I'd definitely phone them on Monday them about it before time swiftly goes by quickly and you get a hefty bill! It may be something simple like a glitch with their computer, but it needs sorting quickly!

A Christmas Market sounds lovely, why not Austria or South Germany somewhere like Bavaria? Either would be about an hour's flight, contact a Travel Agent by person or by phone. I've no idea what other European towns or cities are like but our daughter was in Altenkirchen, Westerwald in Germany teaching English at a school there, all part of her University degree in 1994 and said the Christmas Market was beautiful, but she's always wanted to go to Vienna or anywhere in Austria since, but 5 children later...! Where ever you choose, you would be active in sight seeing and taking photos. Our second eldest grandson went to South Germany a couple of months ago and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He loves travelling and can afford to go to places as he's a teacher at a college, he's flying off to Norway just after Christmas and really looking forward to it. He reckons he's not getting married as he's got the travel bug! Time will tell.

It probably sounds like you to be late in declaring so I'm pleased you've made a note to 26th or earlier if you wish.

Take care of yourself James 😊

Have a lovely WONDERFUL WEEKEND folks.

    Sue

NB folks: Declaration date is ON THE 26TH October 2023! BEFORE if you wish

    BUT NO LATER PLEASE!

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late! So please just ask and you will be made very welcome.

@rancid-a I agree with @Sue-UU and suggest southern Germany. We had a wonderful time at the Munich Christmas market a few years ago. Another good one was Vienna (and Salzburg, but that is possibly because I was geeking out over The Sound of Music 😂).
