Afternoon all, long time no see (well, a month anyway)

Hope all are well, sorry to read about your doggy @Sue_UU Ours is 13 this year, and is definitely slowing down, although she just chased a cat off the garden so not slowing down that much, but long walks are behind us although I do still let her take me where she wants to go; it's just that if it turns out longer she regrets it ;)  I'm not sure we'd have another one - we were so lucky with Storm, she's so good in the house, the car, hasn't really needed much vet treatment or attention, isn't reactive to anything, good with people and mostly other dogs... not sure lightning would strike twice.

DH's op was cancelled by the anaesthetist over concerns about his weight.  It took the consultant appt last week to find that out.  So he's got an appt with his diabetic nurse, currently on 18th April, from which we were already presuming that his op isn't time-critical, and that does appear to be the case.  They are going to keep scanning him to check on the lesion (still described as "likely" cancer) and as long as it doesn't change there's no rush.  Which, I guess, is good.  We're keeping calm and carrying on.

Saving-wise, my Plum account is up to £249.58 for the year so far.  We were very fortunate at work to receive the first of a 2-part payrise this month, backdated to February with the rest to follow at the usual time in August, which I believe has happened at all universities of £1,000 or 2% of salary, whichever is the greater, backdated to February 2023.

I haven't done much eB*ying yet although I have stuff I need to sell - it's just the effort involved LOL but I do near another clear-out.  And I'm doing a day's overtime next month so that will go into the pot.  My current virtual pot apart from Plum is my Chase savings account which currently offers 3% interest and everything spare/extra goes in there, including my Chase roundups and cashback, which between them total about £150 and will automatically transfer over in the middle of next month when I've had the account for a year.

    xx

Sorry to hear about your DH's cancelled op Mrs Shazbat. It's very frustrating for you both but at least you have some comfort knowing that he will be scanned.  Keeping calm and carrying on is the best thing you can do  <3

Spent a few days in Ireland last week.  First time visiting but certainly won't be the last.  Had an amazing time, everyone was so friendly and helpful.  Only downside was our ferry got cancelled and we had to take the Dublin - Holyhead ferry.  This meant a four and half hour drive from North Wales to West Wales in the dark and the wet and the roads aren't the greatest!  Nevertheless, we arrived home safely and I was able to celebrate being another year older at home.

£12.35 added to the pot today.  Have a great week :)

Another £15 in my pot (over the last 2 weeks) My DGS was chatting about his P.E class at school the other day and I mentioned that we didn't have P.E kit at junior school, the girls did it in vest and knickers (standard navy blue) his response was 'why on earth would they do that all those centuries ago?'
I know it was in the 1960's and I am of pension age but how to make granny feel old Joshua!!!!! He couldn't understand why we were helpless with laughter!
