Well I have been awol, but thats because my money has been on existent. But now I have had the joy that is pay day, so £1 in my little pot today.

Thank you @Sue-UU my children have the metro bank accounts so the counting machine is free to pay into their accounts and then withdraw. They also get a lollipop, monthly small toy type treat & bonus money if they pay in 5 months in row.
Good bank for the children, they're not very competitive on interest rates etc if you have savings but I think it's the trade off for long opening hours and uk only staff.
£3 in the pot today change from an after school activity; I usually transfer by bank termly and dont see the real money go out but figured weekly I'll get the coins for pot that i wouldnt usually see. I'm trying to use cash more and not tap to pay indiscriminately. It makes me a lot more careful so far and there are less cash tills so its more effort. XxSPC 2023 #033 £352.08 /2024 £?

Brilliant work.Ah, I see what you mean, RavenRover, very wise for sure! 😃Hi Ant, I was completely shocked when looking via an app on my phone that my post was alredy on the thread!!!! 😯 Every time I looked via my laptop, the post was still there - ready to send and certainly didn't show up on the thread! 😯 Not even the next day!!!! Yet, just had a quick look to see if anyone had posted here on the app last night, and there was MY POST!!! 😯😯 I'd love to know what's going on with MSE at such times as those, why is it only me?!Anyway I'll definitely know what to do in future. Great news with the £4 potted! I can't bare thoughts of folk paying these machines who charge so much. 😄 Well done your children for saving their own money, it's excellent encouragement for when they grow up, especially with the way things are going!!Well done with the way you save too! It's ok folks, contrary to MSE's thoughts, I'm not mad, but all that's on this post was supposed to be on the one above, and even though I battled with it for a couple of hours last night, it wouldn't play ball!!

Tried and failed to post the other day, for which I apologise. I was thinking of all of you who were going through the downs of life and may your days be filled with "ups".
Potting-wise, I've had payday which means last month's excess has been divvied up between my pot and then holiday and house savings. However, I had a bit of a bonanza with TopCashback... £114 suddenly all became payable! The majority of this was from my summer holiday in Canada when I booked accommodation through the cashback site. I thought at one point they were going to reject the cashback, but NO! It was swept immediately into my pot before I could contemplate doing anything else with it!
