Bit warmer here today, although the wind and rain have returned too! DH and I have just returned from a short cruise to the Xmas Markets. We were supposed to do this trip in 2020, so it was great to finally go. It was bitterly cold but so lovely especially Honfleur in France which was idyllic. We managed to keep warm with hot chocolates and plenty of mulled wine! We are now home and caring for DD's two little dogs as DD and her baby have been quite poorly while we've been away. There seems to be so much illness about at the moment, so sending hugs to anyone who is feeling poorly.
Another fiver in the pot today, wishing everyone a very Merry and Peaceful Christmas as we have a houseful arriving this week to stay for Christmas and I don't think I'll have time to postSPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.834 -
Woke up this morning and all of the snow and ice had gone 😲. We also had an above degree, and not minus on the temperature gauge today 🙂. Had to do a little bit at work today, but at least it was a little warmer 😉.
I have multiple 5 pences to plunge into the pot today too.

Hi all, haven't posted for a little while, I've been struggling to save at the moment. This is largely due to being on pre-pay for gas and electric and a combination of it being so cold recently and not having received my voucher from EON this month - most likely they have sent it but it's been delayed with the postal strikes. Anyone else having the same issue?? It has been a constant battle to keep any credit on 😥😥😥
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum rancid-a, I lost my mum in the summer, I can relate to the conflicting emotions as my mum had been in a care home a long time. I have been ok up to now but been hit this week as it would have been her birthday. Please take care of yourself especially over Christmas xxSealed Pot Challenge 2023 # 011

PLEASE TAKE NOTE of this ENTIRE POST!!Hi Hummingbird, it looks as though either no one else is in the same situation as yourself, or obviously folk aren't coming to the thread due to it being Christmas week.If I were you I'd phone EON and ask them exactly what's going on as you desperately need it!!I can certainly relate to the fact that it's been a struggle, especially during the cold weather and general Cost of Living hikes!! 😡 I'm saving nowhere near what's normal for me, but I guess that's the way it'll be until who knows when! Those Birthday & Christmas anniversaries of our dear loved ones can be heartbreaking and I so sympathise with you with your dear mum's birthday. All very best wishes Hummingbird and good luck with EON!This year's Grand Total was£28.353.16!!A really good amount considering the year we've had, and the members who have gone, possibly for the same reason. We've still a great deal to be proud of. 😊Please note: From this year on, the last day to Declare savings by will be the DECLARATION DAY, You can declare before by all means, but no later!*******************************************A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, folks,A SAFE HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!🎅🎄☃️SueNB folks: Opening date for SPC 16 is 26TH October 2023! Oh dear @Hummingbird0_12
Life is doubly difficult for you at the moment. E.On should have a much smarter way of ensuring you have the means to enough credit to have a bit of heat. Prepayment meters have always seemed very unfair to me as I think they cost much more than if you're on Direct Debit. Recently we have had to have the heating on quite a lot. Not being able to would have been very tough.
On top of that you're having to come to terms with the loss of your Mum and of course grief can hit at any time
It is at least considerably milder here in Somerset. Hopefully it's similar with you

Thanks so much Sue and Ant, your good wishes mean a lot, I'm usually a resilient person but haven't been just recently! I will definitely ring E.On and ask for this voucher to be sent again if necessary. I topped up with both
gas & electric again today so I'm warm and toasty at the moment 😊 H xSealed Pot Challenge 2023 # 011

Evening all. Just potted a £2 coin, Plum is saving away for me and is now at £130.83 for the new saving year. I also banked some overtime this month so that also went into the 'pot'.
Xmas shopping is all done and mostly wrapped, we're both recovering from colds - which we could've done without - but we're off to visit DH's family for Boxing Day dinner (which means travelling Christmas Day afternoon).
Hope everyone is/stays well and have a good festive periodSPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)
