Morning turtles, here is my update for yesterday:
Nothing much to report from me. Not an NSD as I did a grocery shop, whizzed around @ldi but not a great experience in t£sco today too many training at one time. Big queues! Under budget by £3!. Also bought fuel & ordered a friends birthday present and a new duvet for us.
Not healthy and had alcohol. There is a connection with Thursdays it seems probably because I go to the office!
Birthday present I had to buy today for a December birthday but meeting friend next week. Borrowed money from Christmas pot and will reimburse on paying day.
Introducing ds to an old program we used to watch called gold rush. Very relaxing and easy watching.
Will pop back later with an update of today.

Good morning, hugs to everyone who needs it.
Gosh, it was so windy last night. And warm.
Love this season though, the colours, cosiness and Christmas dinner flying past in massive flocks. Wish one would drop down as geese might be super expensive this year.
DH still away and put off going to the shop. Still enough bits and bobs for me and the kids for lunch and then just sausages and Yorkshire pudding for tea.
Son still feeling off and me, so will just potter around the house today as the kids are off anyway. I'll catch up on work work on Sunday.
Have a nice dayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510 -
F0xh0les I am with you re the chocolate eating. I once had bought a tin of Quality Street for the childminder and was overcome with greed and ate all of the green triangles and purple ones. Luckily they had started doing boxes of those 2 flavours so I refilled the tin and carefully sellotaped it back up!When I was pregnant with DS2 I inexplicably went off chocolate and have never really liked it much since, so that was a bit of a win!10

I often wonder whether some of our turtle paths cross without us knowing, and it looks like @f0xh0les and @DrCarrie were pretty close! @DrCarrie I often get off the train at East Croydon for work so our turtle paths might have crossed too!
Today has been a busy day at work but I've been able to catch up and am in a good spot before the weekend, which is even better as Monday is my non working day and it feels good not having to stress. Got to work super early today as was awake from 5 and have an online training course tonight so will be leaving imminently. Have done my planning for next week which looks just as crazy!
Not much else to report today. It was so warm this morning, I put a jacket on as I cycled part way but I was pretty hot. I'm sure I'll be grateful for the coat on my way home though.
OH has gone away with friends for a few days so I have the house to myself. Should be nice and quiet, and more importantly, tidy!11 -
Hi All an other mad week have come to an end, and I have many things to be grateful for, a mojito last night with a friend, a decent week at work, a fully booked week for next week, and for ds1 having an assessment for a 3 week intense physio 'course, retreat, residential(but in a hotel), nothing care home about it how unbelievably far we he has gone.
I so love the NHS when it is working :-)
Have a great weekend all, @f0xh0les I hope you don't get stuck in the tube strikes today.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I've had a lovely day. Spent money, didn't get everything done but very happy with what got done and had fun this afternoon. I was downstairs soon after nine as my prescription pills delivery was due. Opened the curtains, set up on the couch (large heavy bag brought down + 3 full of collected items for the bins. Had thrown my boots down and was happy to stay barefoot on the couch, reading my book. It was very dull and gloomy so I lit a wild jasmine candle and 2 tealights.
The pills came, I checked them and one item was missing (I can get by by using my pill splitter but will run out part way through the second month. So back to calling the pharmacy every 5 minutes until I got through). Explained the problem, they had ordered it, the mistake was with the doctors. Not even trying to get through on a Friday. Went back upstairs to see if I could find the extra paperwork I needed for some errands. Found my bus pass application and the PIP stuff and set out for the bus station. Sat down as there were a couple of people ahead of me.
Explained to the assistant that I had applied for PIP when I submitted the bus pass application, was granted it but only for daily needs but had submitted further evidence and asked for mandatory reconsideration and been granted higher rate for mobility needs (maximum 12 points, you need 8 for the bus pass. Lovely young man wrote out a new application form, copying details across from the original, peeled the photo off and stuck it onto the new one, got me to sign it and then passed it all through the fax machine (it didn't want to know but was coaxed into working eventually. He said it should be fairly quick now, they just need to look at the paperwork and process the application.
Went into the mall to pick up my puzzle book (that shop will be closing at the end of this month and another further up is also closing down). Bought 2 for £5 book offer and one confectionery item - can say I spent £10 overall because I went in the little cafe and put the change in their tips box (had a meal there a few weeks ago but didn't have any change for a tip). No-one was at the threading bar and the hairdressers was closed (went to read the note on the door and they've moved to larger premises not far away so will make an appointment next week). Looked round 2 clothes shops but nothing I 'had to have'. I've decided I have enough clothes but only just enough (recent purchases have been replacements for things that were worn out) but I'm not buying anything just to fill in the gaps but will buy if I see something I love.
The new books for developing countries and trees in the UK charity book shop is finally open. Can only buy 3 books each day, picked 2 and then chose 3 to peruse before deciding which would be my third. Settled on a Shaker day book - I can use it when the mid year diary runs out and there are beautiful photographs of Shaker furniture and buildings that can be used for card making or as simple wall art. Called in the market to get a sandwich (2 pm and not had lunch yet) and went to catch a bus. Needed the toilet but the bus station one has those meshing bars so decided to wait.
Well my bladder control is far better than I thought it was - like 2 - 3 hours better because in Bolton bus station they have the meshing bars. I went to HB and bought 6 large tubes of antiseptic cream (our HB is still having a facelift and I'm struggling to even find the tiny tubes that don't last 2 minutes. I wanted to get to the walk in COVID booster place but had decided to look for it on the way there and get off on the return journey. I did see a pharmacy but it had a different name and was much nearer Bolton than expected (thought it would be quite soon after the half way mark) so not sure it was the right one.
I was trying to work out if I could get to Deb'nums (my go to toilet in Bolton) but Morries SM was much nearer (even nearer if you take the right short cut not the wrong one. Did a little shop (eggs and flour were on last week's order that was misdirected and cancelled, eggs were on last nights list and they didn't have any), no bargains in ys but picked up very green bananas and a couple of treats. Schools were out, it was getting dark, so I decided to go straight home and miss the evening rush. Ate lunch in the bus station (wouldn't risk drinking until I'd 'been') at 4 pm. Put away things in the fridge, Ds3 and Beloved still asleep so occupied the couch again and pushed my boots off to get comfy.
DS3 has just relocated me - I said he could have the couch if he brought my (3 heavy) bags up for me. I've decided to set my penny challenge savings against the gifts I've already bought (took the smaller coins out to give away) and anything leftover will be used for a few extras (really want to order some books for me but will check my lists against those available in cs first. I also need to purchase one of those radar keys so I can use the disabled loos. Need to sort the rest of the paperwork had to lift it out of the broken box to hunt for the bits I needed) but will do that over the weekend. Going to read and nibble for now.
Christmas chocs. Mum used to buy 1 lb of mixed sweets and 1 lb of mixed nuts for Christmas. When I was about 8 she started giving them to me to put away and keep safe for Christmas, otherwise she would dip in whilst ironing and have to replace them as she wouldn't stop. I bought a chocolate orange a few weeks ago to put away for myself for Christmas. I've been very good all week (I had one chocolate digestive biscuit at Art therapy) and mostly good for several weeks but for the past few days I've been aware that somewhere in the bottom of a bag is a chocolate orange and, possibly due to the number of minor mishaps, decided I was going to have it if I found it. Well I did when I was hunting through the paperwork (lots in there that I just wanted to keep safe) and it's gone.
Grateful for nearly having a bus pass, helpful assistants (was dreading having to do more photos) and choc oranges.9 -
Work again today, nothing spent, so I am claiming NSD 4Very quiet at work again today.8

In today's news I have had a phone call from someone today which I was not expecting , to go over the long submitted PIP form. She wanted to clarify a few things in respect of my MH.
It was a short call.
The paperwork now goes back to the DWP for consideration & I will receive a response within 8 weeks.
