  • Just popping in quickly to say Happy New Year to you all. Hope you have a good evening, whatever you are doing. We will be mostly watching TV, that is if there is anything worth watching, having a game of Scrabble and going to bed well before Midnight. Gosh what a boring life we lead.....lol.  Actually I just don't like NYE, find it way too over rated and people drinking too much just for because of the day. And as for the fireworks...well, don't even get me started on those. What a waste of money and do they not realise some people are asleep by then and don't want to be woken up?!  Gosh I sound like a right moaner don't I?  Seriously, hope you all have a great time.

Although I have attempted to redo my signature, I'm not sure if it will stay like that or not. Still trying to work out how to get it coloured and if there is anything else I need to add.

My lovely new coloured pens actually popped through the letterbox today, so I have started on my planner and will update a few more of my targets etc tomorrow.  Hopefully I can make my diary a bit more interesting next year. I actually love writing and feel I am quite good at it, but I feel my diary is boring.   Maybe that's because I only started it a few months back and not much has happened in that period. Anyway, thanks for anyone who does read it and see you all on the other side. x

Your diary isn’t boring it’s real life. Believe me uneventful is good. We will also be tucked up in bed fast asleep well before midnight. It’s nice if you’re young, in a nice restaurant, party or on holiday but otherwise it’s just another day. Happy New Year 🥳

Well Hello dairy readers. Been a quiet day today, I haven't updated any of my money challenges yet,  as I am waiting to see if any more money approves from P/fc before I cash out and then I will work everything out.  Tomorrow however is DH's pay day, which means I get my HK money drop into my account and transfers get made,  so I will be moving things around early on and then again later when I (hopefully) make some more money.
I have however renamed one of my little saving accounts attached to my NW account and called it Household. This is going to be for the radiator that we are wanting to get moved to the other end of the kitchen; the new thermal door curtain and curtain pole I am saving for, the new carpet for the bedroom, new sofa that we desperately need....to name but a few.  Not sure how long all those things will take, but at least I will be able to see some progress, however slowly.

On things that are not MSE related, I started the day with a good stretch and release session and then went onto a 30 min, low impact aerobics with weights and abs. Went for a walk after lunch, but didn't get very far as the sun suddenly disappeared and it came over very black as if it was going to pour down.  So not as many steps as I was hoping for today, but maybe I can fit in a quick Salsa class later.

Tomorrow the plan is to start decluttering and rearranging the kitchen cupboards. I do it every year and still end up not liking the way things are arranged. But hopefully once we move the radiator and get a new (probably 2nd hand) table and chairs up the other end, that will help make it seem better.  When I win the lottery we can have a new kitchen....lol.  Although TBH, I'm not sure I could stand the mess and we keep saying we will downsize once we have paid the mortgage and cleared our debts, so not sure if there is any point....but its nice to dream.  Dreams are what keeps me going. Sometimes we sit here and talk about the cruise we will go on one day, across the Atlantic and all round New England & Canada. Or the trip across Canada on the Rocky Mountaineer train.  As I am a firm believer in the power of the Law of Attraction, I am sure it will happen one day.  If you've not read the book called The Secret, then you should.  It teaches you how to be positive and manifest good things. Its all about your thoughts and feelings.  Which is why when I do surveys and they ask do you think your finances will get better worse in the next 6 months, or something like that. I always say they will get better.  We have to believe and make it happen.  I am the same with talking/thinking about my health as well. Always positive....apart from when I have a down day.....lol

Well after that bit of waffle, I had better go and get some dinner, as DH will be home soon. Today its yesterdays leftover chicken casserole and I am making some dumplings to go on the top.  So maybe I will be too full to do a Salsa class later.....!
     Have a good evening everybody.

  • Hello lovely. I started to read the Secret a few years back, well… I say read; I have it on audiobook. Maybe I should give it a listen on holiday.

Well done on the exercise, the gym is very busy at the moment with new year resolution makers. But even the smallest movement is better then sitting on the couch.

We have the lottery winner discussions every Saturday, including what we would do first, how quickly we would hand in our resignations and where we would build our dream home. You have to dream and have something to hope for :)

You're doing well with your exercise, @Makingabobor2. I need to start a daily stretching routine, but haven't yet found any that I fancy. I must step up my search for one next time I have my laptop on. I think it would help as some of my muscles are very tight & I already have arthritis in my hands.
I am also wanting to build up our house & garden pot this year.

@foxgloves, I use a lady on FB for my exercises. She does a free group with a few pre recorded classes & also a VIP group for £15 a month, where you get 3 live classes a week plus a library of hundreds of past classes. The stretch one I do is from her VIP group. She has a massive selection....pliates; step; low impact aerobics; upper body; abs etc. She caters for all ages. I also have Osteoarthritis & Osteoporosis. Can message you the details if you want  x

That would be great, @Makingabobor2. Thank-you. I have osteoarthritis diagnosed only in my hands, but I am starting to think it may be starting in my left shoulder. I just feel as though all my limbs need a damn good stretch! I keep saying to Mr F, there's not much point saving up to relocate to be by the sea when he retires if we are too creaky to enjoy all those tide-line walks! And he's a good few years younger than me! I've got a few dancing around/aerobics-type DVDs, it's daily stretching sessions I need.
