Well pleased to report that my back feels a lot better, just a bit "twingey" if I move wrong, but as I often suffer with back/shoulder/posture issues, that doesn't surprise me. I'm actually thinking of setting myself up a new fitness challenge for the NY as well as lots of financial ones. I seem to have slipped a bit lately on my exercise regime, and also on my steps. So going to set myself some new goals...watch this space and I'll post once I've worked out what I want to do.
Sent just £4 to various pots so far today, but hoping to get some more cashed out later, if possible and check bank accounts against spread sheets and make a few more PADS. Got a few ££ waiting to be approved in P/fc and hope Qm/e will get a bit more today yet. CC's seems to have slowed down lately, I'm finding them really slow for such small reward.
Will post again later or tomorrow as not much happening at the moment of interest, and I have a dr appt to get to in a bit.
Have a good evening.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Glad your back is better.

@enthusiasticsaver, yes we wouldn't book anything that we hadn't costed out and decided we could save for. I budget for everything these days.
Well, didn't manage to get anything else to cash out tonight, P/fc still waiting to approve and no more studies come through from them. Done few on 1P/ol and Op/on Ot/pst, and they are building up slowly. Never got round to checking bank accounts and spread sheets, but as tomorrow is DH's pay day and small amounts will be winging their way to various pots, I will check it all tomorrow. Hoping tomorrow will be a NSD as well, as the only thing I need is a few last minute groceries that come out of my normal weekly budget, so that doesn't count. Think it might be NSDs right through till next week with any luck...fingers crossed.
Off to watch some TV now and read a few pages of my book.

Good Afternoon, hope you all had a great Christmas. Ours was quiet, saw in-laws on Christmas Eve and spent the rest of the holiday, just the 2 of us. DD, DSIL and GKs, all have the lurgy, so we are keeping away. Other family members all live too far away, so we rarely see them at Christmas.
So we had a nice day, walking, eating a nice dinner, watching rubbish TV and playing a game that we were given for Christmas.
Yesterday we ate leftovers and went walking again, an online exercise session and a film.
Today DH has done some repairs to his motor bike and I have decided I am having a digital clear out today, before embarking on proper clear out/declutter, starting later this week. I am going to declutter emails, unsubscribe to rubbish and stop getting so many. Then I am decluttering FB and stop following so many rubbish sites and having virtual friends that I no longer have anything in common with. I am also limiting the amount of time I spend online, as I think it seems to be going up every week...oops. Also no more using phone or laptop after 9pm. We used to do this and then slowly it crept up to 10pm and then it was just checking things on the way to bed....and then I wonder why I'm not sleeping so well.
So once all that is done, I shall plan my planner for next year....yes that's how much of a "list" person I am, that I need to plan out how I am going to do my planner. I got a lovely little diary/planner, from the Bay of E and as this is the first year I have started with so many challenges and goals, I want to have records of everything in there. I have even ordered a set of coloured pens....lol. My financial and fitness goals are going to be much better this year, and I intend to achieve all of them. Hence why they will not be massively out of reach. For instance I know there is no point starting the challenge to pay off all our debts in 2023, as its just not possible....unless we win the lottery or inherit. And I don't really want to attract bad things, by thinking we will inherit next year, as that means in-laws or my dad passing, and although we know that is likely to happen in the next few years, I don't want to tempt fate. So I will join lots of challenges on here to help pay things off and save and I will also be setting fitness goals. I will change my signature to reflect my goals and to make it easier to see what's happening. Quite excited by it all really.
Today is very cold and windy here and making me realise how much I need to get a new curtain for the front door. We have a little porch that then leads into the lounge and although we have a curtain up there, and it is supposed to be thermal, it is not very good. I want to get the one that matches the curtains that are at the window and also a longer curtain pole. I must sort out the money and get one ordered...that'll be a job for DH, putting it up.
So onwards and upwards now. Hope you all have a good day.

I do love a good plan and a list of course ☺️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

So today I checked the mortgage balance....although I knew exactly what it was anyway. Since starting keeping track of everything, I think I know to the penny, how much we owe and how much we've saved.....lol. Anyway, I had said at the start of December that my plan was to get the mortgage balance down to £30,000, before the December DD came out on the 31st. The long term plan is to pay it off before the actual term ends in June 2026, I am hoping to shave at least a year off of that. So I just paid another £45 overpayment and have got it to £30,000!
Of course the actual DD came out today as well, as tomorrow is a Saturday....lol. I won't update my signature until the bank updates the actual account, which normally takes a day ( or probably 2 or 3 as its New Year). Its far too complicated for me to work out, payments off and interest added on....lol.
So now that's sorted, I am off to do an online exercise class and then start planning in my 2023 planner. Although my shiny new coloured pens from the Bay of E have not arrived yet, despite it saying they should have originally been delivered yesterday and when I checked again today, they have changed the details and added tracking saying delivery by Jan 4th!! That's no help if I want to get my planner sorted before the 1st!!
Went shopping to As/a earlier and can't believe how their stuff is going up in price such a lot. Don't often pop in there, and can see why now. They seem to be cheap quality but not cheap prices anymore. Most of our shopping is a mix of A/di for the basics and Mr S for the stuff I can't get there, ( get loads of nectar points as we use E/B a lot and lots of nectar offers to save money). Also fruit & veg from the market stall and a lot of stuff (toiletries, cleaning stuff, herbs/spices etc) from the zero waste refill shop. Its hard these days isn't it? Can't get everything in one place unless you want to spend too much and not think about saving the planet.
Have a good day everyone. Stay warm, its very windy here.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Unfortunately with the postal strikes post is being delayed and there is nothing the sellers can do except hope for the best. People ar having to refund money when things dont arrive by the due date and then they arrive and many people dont bother getting in touch to pay again so not only does the seller lose the money they sold the item for but also the cost of postage as you cant claim for a late delivery. Couriers are having similar problems due to backlogs over Christmas.
