People are allowed to fret - the anniversary of account opening is nothing to do with how long you delayed making a first payment so its the 11th for a lot of people and this is the 21st Century and computers no longer get the weekend off.

Finally got my account sorted today after 1 month, after having to request fresh log in details after getting locked out.  Made a small withdrawal today as a tester, which worked ok, but does anyone know why they need to produce a list asking you for your reasons for the withdrawal.  Never seen that with other financial institutions.   Unfortunately there wasn't a "mind your own business" box to tick.

I don't know what people are fretting about. Where do they think their interest has gone?
    Opened 11tth October
First deposits made by 12th Oct (or fully credited for interest by day after  deposit)
It's Friday , 12th is a Saturday , here comes the weekend, I  don't expect any interest til Monday.

If a bank states they pay interest monthly on the anniversary of the account opening. It's perfectly reasonable to expect them to do this. I don't think for one second anyone will lose money, it's more about giving accurate information to millions of savers. It's not too much to ask.

Never said they weren't allowed to fret. Yet to see any great reason for it . Or will this thread be filled with everyone to announce  they haven't  had their interest credited . I've had plenty online financial transactions including interest have to wait til after the weekend to be registered even if they in theory happen at any time.

Paying interest and the interest being shown on the account aren't necessarily the same thing.
And if today is the anniversary , it's not even over yet! - yet people can't wait til the day is over to decry the loss of being "All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace".

That's your own experience Patr.  Some of us don't have "plenty of online financial interest transactions" experiences to compare this situation to, just what we were promised when we opened this account.  I was looking forward to seeing the interest there today and it isn't.  Seeing this is a thread re. the Santander account I don't see the problem if many more people ask about the interest 🐈
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈

And you were apparently "promised"  to have it credited up to a day that isn't even over yet. Well then I will leave you all to worry all over the weekend...unless you miraculously find it credited tomorrow and wonder what all the fuss was about....

How about one for "cigarettes and whisky and wild, wild wimmin"..... :)
