The verdict on Direct Debits: you cannot set them up against this account. Requests to do so get returned to the requestor with a note saying the account does not support DDs, even though the sort code checker says it does.
Similar with SOs, can't do them either.9 -
oz0707 - Are you having the same problems as me?
Tried another laptop a couple of times and no problem. Last night I couldn't even get into my account using my usual laptop. Today cleared browsing history, cookies and cache and logged on ok and checked a few things in account. Logged off and tried to log on again - success, but when I tried to look at things in account, it sent me back to the log in screen again.
Hoping the other laptop wasn't a fluke.
masonic - No, I don't have another Santander tab open in the background, but thanks for your suggestion0 -
I switched my household bills account (an old TSB Classic Plus) to Santander in order to get the switching bonus and also hopefully get a better online/app experience (TSB customers will know this isn't a high bar, mind). I've had no complaints whatsoever. Switch went like a dream, was set up online in good time and also opened a Basic account along with this ESaver product when it launched. It was a 24 hour wait from Esaver application to opening but that was the only delay of any significance in the three or so months I've been with them. Switch bonus was paid earlier than the T&Cs state and I like the app. Can't report any issues with transfers either, including my regular cycles to NatWest, RBS & Club Lloyds accounts. No complaints at all from me.
