I think they will have us in the trial for next few months until it goes live.

this is really taking the mick. after doing the trial for 5 weeks now, I have some 700 points (including the 300 bonus points for joining and doing the questionairre). i am guessing 1 point would equate to a penny in rewards. So £4 for a 5 weeks of posting and reporting.

I'm tending to send in my holiday dates until January 2023.
    If the trial continues with no stamps - they are doubly taking the {whatever}

Yes it is less effort than Kantar - but that's not a reason to "forget" the incentives and not actually communicate whether it's a trial or live.
I suspect the answer is that it’s Royal Mail who provide the stamps (as stated in the Spectos FAQs) and given that their contract doesn’t start until next March, they simply won’t have any to give out. At the end of the day, we only got involved by finding a link on their website which has now been removed so I’m not sure we can grumble too much!

The email I got 10 days ago says:

Thank you so much for your email. As of now the company is still in the test cycle. We are setting of the actual cycles very soon and you will begin to receive your incentive stamps post that.

March isn't "very soon" - I'd expect to see something in November.

I suppose what it doesn’t say is how soon after they set the actual cycles that we will become involved. For instance, the process might be something like (1) test all the systems to confirm it works as expected - the current phase, (2) develop the plan for live postings, (3) pause all operations until March 23, (4) start releasing the actual cycles to panelists, and (5) send out reward stamps.

I’m not disagreeing with you though, it’s a bit disappointing that we are effectively unpaid Guinea pigs but I suppose I’ve always been a glass half empty type of person and then I’m never disappointed. For me, if we don’t get stamps until March, I’ve accepted that but if we get them early, it’s a bonus.

I have a similar amount of points and have been posting once a week and receiving twice a week.

I do like the fact that the letters to post come to us sealed and there’s no preparation required compared with Kantar.

So Royal Mail are no longer interested in how hand-written addresses fair in the postal system?

There’s been no requirement yet from Spectos to hand write any addresses.

Unless that going to change once they go live?

Since the letters are window envelopes (the ones I've had are)  they would need to change the assembly process.  Maybe a plain envelope with the required address printed on the wrapper for us to copy?

  • Sorry if this question is in the wrong place; I’m new here.

I’ve been invited to join the Spectos Mailagents panel but they’re vague about the amount of time involved and the rewards for the input. Is there a way of finding out more about both aspects before committing myself.
    Thanks

Your in the right place and Welcome!

Rewards promise to be a book of stamps a month plus points for every item you post and every item you receive. Points will lead to payouts of some form, but that doesn’t seem to be a great amount.

It looks like the effort involved will be a couple of items to post locally each week and a minute to log the posting on the app.

If you get asked to become a Spectos panelist you should accept. It is not too arduous at the moment as we are in a testing phase. You have to use the app and we get one posting a week. All this is liable to change when things ramp up but you can leave at any time via an option in the app.
