I'm just rejoining the panel after resting and was sent the survey about parcel collection too.
I said no as I've tried it in the past and they failled to collect, also they expect you to book the collection yourself via the Royal Mail website so that is extra work we won't be paid for.

Posting sacks is not very rewarding

We don’t know yet. Maybe they will offer extra points for Parcel Collect.

Is it any extra work compared to having to leave the house, find a post office or parcel box and post the item there? I’d much rather have parcel collect, much less effort involved in my view.

    New newsletter received today includes:

    Next Day Posting

If you have missed a posting day, normally we would ask you to post the same day the following week. However, we know this can lead to frustration and a build up of items.

This rule is changing from Monday 21st October where you will now be able to send any items you miss on the next available day. You will need to ensure you always enter the actual time and date of posting. Please always try to stick to the schedule, this is important as we have specific targets each day for items to be posted. However, if for any reason you do miss a scheduled day, please post it on your next available day.

    Stamp Scanning

Soon we will be collecting some data from the barcodes on stamps. We will be selecting a few test letters each month at random. If your test letter needs scanning you will receive a prompt when completing the data entry of the received test letters. Please just follow the prompts and scan the barcode stamp. When completing this you will receive 10 points. More information coming on this soon.

I’ve said no. I’d rather drop it off somewhere than trying to listen out for someone coming when I’m working from home, in video meetings or on the phone.
It’s just less hassle to walk to the parcel postbox.
I am in favour of the collection idea .
It can be left in a safe place for the postman if need be .
So much better than queuing at the post office , walking in the rain etc ,which I often have to do .
No parcel post box is available to me within walking distance .
I said yes to the collection idea as well though we surprised by the question about whether you would you be willing to send all your parcels this way.

I don't actually recall having received or sent a medium parcel while the survey has been run by Spectos

I've only used Parcel Collect once - and it was fine since it was the same postperson as usual and he handed over incoming and picked up the outgoing.  I work from home so it would be a bit more convenient than having to find a slot to run out to the PO with the risk of queuing for an undefined time.   So I've said yes for when I'm back on the panel.

A parcel postbox would be most convenient but my nearest is 2.7 miles away and getting in the car would negate the convenience.  (According to the RM website - there's a locker of some sort 0.9 miles away in a petrol station convenience store.  That must be 0.9 miles as the crow flies as I'm sure it would be further than that to walk there (Google Maps says 1.4 miles...))
I need to think of something new here...

I've said yes on the basis that it might jolt them into adding me back on to the panel after being rested since August last year.

  • Is anyone else having problems with the app today?  It's really slow for me taking up to a minute to move on to the next step.

Yes, the app wouldn't let me enter any dates earlier. Now seems to be working
