I contacted them about the post boxes with 9am last collection on. I pointed out that Kantar knew what time they got emptied so if I posted at 11am it was not a problem, and was it the same with them.

The reply was not much use at all. I was told that I could post it the day before after 9am if I could not get there early enough on the correct day. If I post it the day before at 11am there is a chance that the box had not been emptied on that day, so it would be a day too early. The one by me gets emptied by the postman and they do not usually come until about 1pm.

I’d be very surprised if Spectos didn’t also know the exact time the post box is emptied so don’t think there is a risk of mail getting collected a day earlier than they think it has been collected. But for whatever reason, Spectos do seem to focus more heavily on ensuring that the items are posted before the last collection time, perhaps in an effort to ensure that they are processed in the mail for that day - the downside is that it could end up getting processed a day earlier but I think they’ll be able to pick that up.

I always post my items around 10pm on the evening before so that seems to avoid any chance of it getting processed on the wrong day but that won’t work for everyone. If we’re accurately telling them when things are posted and following the instructions, there’s nothing more we can do.

    Logging an incoming item today....

Item arrived at 1220.  On the Kantar app:  I record this as 12.00 - 12.30 in the drop-down.  In the Spectos app I have to either choose 12:00 or 12:30 in the roll down bit.  What do you choose?  I tend to go for the nearest point so today was logged as 12.30.  The training video doesn't help - it just says choose the 30 min interval with nothing to say whether you are selecting the start or end time.

While I'm here....  Does anyone else find it annoying that as soon as you do choose the date or time; the next question is "Is that right?"  - Of course it is - if I wasn't sure I'd say so!    And when you log an outgoing bundle - the next question is "Did you post all 3 items?"  I suppose there might be an answer of "No, I dropped one on the way to the post box and a passing squirrel ran off with it".   We do all check the bundle has the right number of items when we get it don't we?
I had exactly the same scenario today, my item also arrived at 12.20!  I also recorded it as having arrived at 12.30 as I felt that was the nearest time.

My nearest post box also has a 9am last collection. I have always posted items the day before any time after 9am. This was always fine with Kantar.

In your example I would choose 12:00. If you enter 12:30 just after it arrives at 12:20 it says you can't enter a time in the future.
I found this info in the tutorials.

Enter the time of delivery for each item. For the time of delivery for each item, it is OK if you can report it to the nearest 30 minutes:

I’m not sure where it says you can’t enter a time in the future. Can anyone advise?

I haven’t tried it but I suspect what they mean is that if you enter it in the app at the moment you receive it, the app won’t physically let you record 12.30 if it is only 12.20 when you’re recording it. The Kantar app used to work the same way (and perhaps still does).

Right - I've never been efficient enough to report within a minute of the post arriving  :)  I hear the clunk and make a note of the time but don't log it until the next convenient opportunity.

"To the nearest 30 minutes" means what I have done - 1220 rounding to 1230 but 1210 rounds to 1200.  Not quite the same thing as choosing a 30 minute block.   Maybe V1.4 will be clearer.
I need to think of something new here...

My local box has a metal plate which is changed when the box is emptied - to show the day (eg Mon) for the next collection.  So you know whether the box has been emptied yet - eg if it says Mon on Saturday you know the Saturday collection has already happened.  Do not other boxes have this?

Many do but I find the plate is not always changed correctly.

Mine has this. It has been saying Thursday for 2 years.
