Another 'hack' my wifes family works for the local non league team. My boys play for their juniors.
They have a quality little stadium and facilities. We get free season pass and 9/10 free food (as wifes cousin does the catering)
Home match day the 6 of us it costs about £20 all in for the day. Given that's 6 of us about 5 hours for £20 it equates to about 66p each per hour for ten afternoon.
Used to go to our local league 1 side and that's set me £120+ easy.
At our local side it's a great day and so much kiddy friendy 👍
I know it's not man utd or glam, but its still a day out, kids ♥️ it, it's there local side (whom they play jnrs for).
Sometimes u have to look beyond the 'status' and see where the fun it.
We have a far better time at out non league side then we ever have at our league side... And we win to.
Hell in Dec my 2 youngest were player mascots and we got a club tour were treated like starsand ran out with the players (as play for the jnrs).. For free.
How much would that cost at a Prem Club?
Forgive sounding like a broken record but I'm finding this so liberating.
A "chink" on the visa can't compare to something 'real'.
Honeslty watching our team win 4-1 at home in our derby, in a packed house on BH Monday, with everyone having a great time for virtually nothing has eclipsed every £150+ league 1 game we've attened.
That my kids could 1 day play for this team is also far more 'touchable' to them than a man utd.
As my journey continues I hope it encourages others. I have been petrified, and on occassions will still be.
Everyone here has given me the strength and I genuinely ♥️ u all for it x23 -
You don’t sound like a broken record at all, you sound like a man who is finding renewed enjoyment and fulfilment in life! It’s truly liberating; removing stress and being able to see the wood for the trees again.
Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope you do stick around to encourage others as many have encouraged you and will continue to do so. Personal journeys and anecdotal experiences are the bricks and mortar of this forum and there’s always room for more.

I am so glad to hear such a positive post and that you are sleeping better and finding joy in simpler and cheaper things. It may take your wife a little longer but if you work together you will both get to where you want to be. Happy New Year to you all.

This is fabulous ! I'm not a football fan, but I know I'd have a better time watching Ludlow Town FC than Man U. It's all more tangible, like you said , your kids really COULD play for THIS team, so it's THEIR team, better than Man U any day !
It's these little things, these realisations, that make all this worth it
