Couples: what are your tips for managing joint finances?

    I can't imagine having to share my finances with anyone else. But should that change, I would expect joint finances to be managed jointly, with annual goals to keep things interesting.
    I think the point of sharing financial info with your partner is so that they can more easily cope if anything happens to you.

    We have all joint accounts.  I deal with all money related things but everything is kept updated on YNAB which DH can look at any time.  All bills are paid via DD, SOs are set up between current and savings accounts so there's actually very little to actually "do" as it runs itself.

    All spending is put onto a credit card and paid off by DD at the end of the month.  Cash is drawn once a month but not much as rarely use it.
