Coventry BS - what's the recent application process like?

I’m thinking of joining them to open the 2.25% ISA but the prospect of possibly having to email them copies of my ID documents puts me off.
Has anyone that’s joined them recently had to provide copies of ID documents?“Hardware: The parts of a computer system that can be thrown out of the nearest window!”0 -
I opened an account and transferred in my ISA. I'm a new customer, but wasn't asked to send any ID, and the account was opened straight away. ISA transferred over in two working days. The only thing I had to do paperwork wise was sign a form they sent out to me asking for my signature.2

Well I opened the account yesterday, was available instantly as I've got another account with them so nice and easy. I setup the payee via my bank and transferred a very low sum, just to check all details were correct and waiting for it to arrive in Coventry account. Which it did after a while.
This is where the fun started... I then proceeded to transfer more money to the Coventry ISA and it showed as ok after authorising it etc but then I noticed my balance hadn't decreased and then suddenly it said I had to re-login again after 30 seconds. Upon doing so, I couldn't, it said my account was blocked.
i tried via a computer and got the same issue so had to phone up the bank, no joy last night having waiting 30mins on the phone as they closed and this morning, first try, i got cut off after prob 20mins or so, on 2nd try after over 30mins of waiting, i finally got through to someone, went through security info and that was all fine and then re-enabled it for me and also advised i re-make the transfer whilst they on the phone as was a slim chance it could get blocked again but thankfully it didn't so, no issues with Coventry, just my own bank in the end, which I wasn't expecting as I wasn't transferring a very large sum of money etc but oh well, its finally all up and running again.

Rang the Coventry today to ask a question, I was no 35 in the queue!
Really thought Id misheard so rang again after 10 mins of awful music. Never gave the queue no. but just said an operator would be as soon as possible. Gave up after another 10 mins!0 -
I can't say I'm too happy with the service from Coventry.
On 7 October, I asked them to initiate a partial transfer from my ISA with Yorkshire BS (like Coventry, a member of the Electronic ISA Transfer system).
The acknowledgement said the transfer should be achieved within seven working days.
On Friday 21st, when there was no sign of the money appearing in my account, I telephoned and the automatic response advised a wait of fifteen minutes to speak to an operative.
After that time, or perhaps a few minutes over, the phone was answered by an operative only to go dead almost immediately.
I rang back to be advised that there would be a twenty minute wait!
At that point I gave up and sent a secure message enquiring about my apparently unactioned transfer and complaining about the phone experience.
There should be a response to a secure message within two working days.
Checked today (26 October) - no response and no sign of the transfer either!
And they no longer have the universal covid excuse!

Looks like they've gone downhill. They were okay when I used them years ago.Not sure I'll bother with them. Even if they release an attractive rate, they may not have the manpower to serve the influx.0

I've had an account of one kind or another with them for several years.
Generally I've been quite happy but all does not seem well at the moment.0
