Yet another case has been dismissed at Walsall bringing the total to getting on for 30 cases with only one upheld. The DJ has sent a strong message that any similar case will be dismissed.
In this hearing costs for unreasonable behaviour were allowed for the preparation of the paperwork.
The representative for Excel Parking Services Limited has advised Excel to stop bringing these claims to court.
I would imagine that the reps are tired of representing these spurious claims with little chance of winning. If they are a newly qualified barrister who is looking for a pupillage it does not look good on their CV.

I agree. SRS has a skin like rhinocerous hide but his day will come.

Another Excel claim bites the dust.
On the same day as the above hearing another Lichfield case was heard which was also dismissed.
I really don't know why Excel are throwing money at this. They are clogging up the courts with these spurious claims.

The fact that they take people to court is enough to scare others into paying up. Even even where there is a very good defence, putting it all together and going through the process is time consuming, may involve losing holiday allowance and/ or pay at work and r can be intimidating, paying up will (or should) make it all go away.
The whole thing is rotten to the core. From the Plain Language Commission:

Another Excel claim bit the dust at Walsall Court today.
Euro PCN'S are coming out of the woodwork though. They have this ridiculous tariff which does not work well for people going into Lichfield late afternoon and staying until the evening. They have to go back and buy another ticket. There is a new cinema opening soon and I can see more PCN's.

After two changes in operator the two car parks in Lichfield, Backcester Lane and Gresley Row are changing to a cashless system. There will be a kiosk but whether it will be manned no one knows. A cashless system is not conducive to the demographic in Lichfield. There could also be issues with the changeover from ECP.
