Hello,
We endured a delay of nearly 24 hours with the above company.
I was considering whether to go through Resolver or fill out Easy Jet's own form.
But today I found this message on Resolver: ¨Due to unforeseen circumstances, Resolver are temporarily unable to accept complaints to easyJet. We would like to stress that this is only temporary and that we are working closely with easyJet to be able to resume this service.¨
Has anybody claimed successfully (or not) using the EJ form?
Does it allow you to claim expenses? (they provided hotel and breakfast but not meals).
Their form won't let me go to the second page without filling the first one and I do not know if it is wise to start filling it out unless I decide to use it.
Many thanks!

Most airlines won't respond to Resolver. You have to use the airline's online form.
Most have 2 forms, one for expenses, re-routing costs etc and another for compensation claims.

Thanks. We've used it twice successfully though, for flight delays.

easyJet indeed have two separate forms. One for compensation and a second for expenses.

I used them earlier this year and easyJet paid up. Took some time which I expected, but they did so.

Just double checking we had a flight Gatwick to Isle of Man cancelled - next flight they could get us on was 4 days later.

Can I claim both expenses and the flight compensation?

    I believe so.

¨Sometimes airlines are unable to arrange care and assistance for all passengers. This can happen when staff are stretched during major disruptions.

If this happens, in our view you have the right to organise reasonable care and assistance yourself, then claim the cost back later. If you end up paying for things yourself, keep every receipt and do not spend more than is reasonable. Airlines are unlikely to refund you for things like luxury hotels or alcohol. Some will provide guidance on reasonable costs.¨

  • Yes you can claim for both compensation and “reasonable” expenses.
I claimed for a cancelled flight to Cyprus and have already had a quick response that the money will be in my bank within 7 working days.
Lets wait and see if it is !!

Do you live in U.K. or Isle of Man ?
This is relevant to how many additional expenses you would have incurred - if you live in U.K. there would minimal additional expences incurred ( taxi or train fare home & back to Gatwick )  - if you live in Isle of Man then you’d be entitled to claim for meals and accommodation for the extra 4 days in U.K.

In addition you may be entitled to claim compensation , as long as the reason for the cancellation was not extraordinary circumstances which the airline had no control over ( such as bad weather or Air Traffic Controllers strike ) .

Always worth submitting a compensation claim . Were you given a reason for the flight cancellation at the time ?

  • I used EasyJet's online compensation claim forms for expenses and cancellation in June. The first response said that the flight had been cancelled, but expenses were not covered by the regs. The second response from the same department told me the flight had not been cancelled and compensation was not due! This was an attempt to weasel out of their obligations because the outward flight left but all flights back had been block cancelled by the airline for a month ahead. I put in a new claim for the flight back which, after chasing, they said was accepted but four months later they still haven't paid up. I was warned in advance by the travel agent to be prepared for a fight and they were so right. Be prepared to scrap all the way for your rights - EasyJet clearly have no scruples and will seek to wear you down.

Absolutely Dylanev! Last year, when Covid regulations were in place, their departure was SUCH a mess it defied belief.
They made a mockery of the very guidelines they were supposed to enforce, resulting in chaos and delay, not enough to claim unfortunately.
This time they immediately accepted expenses (which were really low despite being 4 passengers and dinner or lunch were not covered) but rejected the delay claim without a valid reason.
When you talk of two responses, is it because you submitted the same form twice?  I am pondering how to escalate,  whether to through resolver (despite the criticism we successfully claimed two delays with them) or an ADR body as suggeted by the CAA.
The problem with Easyjet is that unfortunately they do not have much competition.... most other flights leave from Stanstead, which depending on where you live cound be equivalent to another trip, and have horrendous timetables.
