alternate said:Do ulster do that HooYu crap where you upload a photo of your passport and a video selfie and a robot checks them? The gf and I did rbs and while mine was quick and easy the gf tried for about half an hour before giving up. Kept rejecting the selfie. "put your nose on the screen" "move back to focus" "move closer" "ID rejected".
Didn't help that I was sat there laughing and shouting "put your nose on the DOT", while she got more and more !!!!!! off.
No explanation of where things stand. No comms other than the form in the post.
The implication is that I've been approved, but they still haven't actually confirmed that.

Received text/email yesterday afternoon confirming switch and closing the donner account on 28/10/2022.
Nothing received from Ulster Bank, very strange!0 -
I've had the switch bonus from all 3. No problems opening an Ulster account, and I live in the south east of England. I just picked the 'closest' branch to me, as it asked, which happened to be in NI.
I can't remember the last time I actually had to go in to a branch for any of my accounts, over the last 7 years, and it's not my primary account, so I doubt I'm going to find the branch location a problem.0 -
I've missed the RBS Switch deal. Tried to switch as a new customer - system said I already had an account, please restart as an existing customer. Go in as existing customer and I can't remember my old pre 2017 account details. 2 hours on their phone and chat systems and they can't find my account either! Took my details to email me but I'm now past the deadline. Do you think they will re introduce the offer?0

Well, my Ulster switch request was due to complete on 12th October, but I've just had an email saying they've approved my application...hopefully I can still meet all the offer T&Cs though0

I thought I'd switched away from them but able to still log on to view the statement. It says I have just over £10 in my select account🤪 it's now in my main account. So I now have a spare account for switching, thought I'd switched it, but nowt immediately to switch to, I've exhausted my options.0 -
as part of the switch incentive for these 3 you have to login to the mobile app. i get a message saying "you need to wait 3 full days after you have changed your mobile number with us". is this normal for a new customer?
i know my number is right as they have texted me various updates along the way since applying for accounts.
edit: i remembered when logging in online for the first time they take a mobile number even though they obviously already have it. this is treated as a "number change". i'm all sorted now.0 -
After waiting a couple of weeks, eventually today I received an email from Ulster with my Customer Number.0
