Natwest/RBS/Ulster second switch reward

Options
Hi all,

According to the terms and conditions for the Natwest/RBS/Ulster switch offer, if you have previously had a reward for switching to them since October 2017 you are not eligible for the current offer. Does anyone know if this is actually checked? (I.e. has anyone tried to switch on one of their previous offers for a second time?)

Thanks.

  • It's possible to get a switch reward from each of the 3 banks - their systems don't appear to talk to each other.

Don't know how rigorous each individual bank is about checking for multiple switches.

Once per brand. Not possible to get multiple payouts from the same brand in my experience, unless you end up with a separate profile/login - I wouldn't recommend trying to force that however.

I have received both the NatWest and RBS offer since October 2017. I took a punt doing the RBS offer as wasn’t expecting to get it as per the terms, it did pay off, if I hadn’t of got the RBS incentive I wouldn’t have tried to argue to get it as I wasn’t entitled to it according to the terms.

Might do the same with the Ulster offer, if it pays off, it pays off. If it doesn’t no big deal.

I got the RBS one roundabout October '17 and also the NatWest one earlier this year. I didn't expect to get the NatWest one so that was a pleasant surprise.....I'd merely considered it worth a punt as I have a few current accounts spare to switch for such offers.

I did try for the Ulster one in this current offer period but they required passport or DVLA ID, neither of which I have. I'll try for that next time once I've renewed my passport but won't complain if I don't get it as I've already done well from the NatWest Group.

I might be imagining it, but I thought you needed to have an address in Northern Ireland to open an Ulster bank account too.

I’ve had one from each of them. Not tried to get more than one from the same one, but I do know someone that gave it a go and it didn’t work.

is the sign up process for these 3 a bit "old worldy". opened one with Ulster yesterday and RBS today and nothing has happened beyond "we have your application and will be in touch with what to do next".

no emails or texts or anything.

edit: got a RBS email a few minutes later. nothing from Ulster.

I didn’t hear anything from Ulster until getting a letter asking me to send back a signed application form. Means I’m now likely to miss the deadline for the switch offer.
