    My account now showing these prices.......33.02 p/kWh 45.77 p/day, 10.24 p/kWh 28.48 p/day
  • Interestingly Eon Next have now reduced my original v18 tariff from a headline pre-October rate 51.86p/kWh for Electricity (VAT inc) not by 17p but by 17.85p, so they have added 5% onto 17p.  Great I thought, only until I realised that the new rate of 34.01p/kWh is still above the (Northern) regional cap of 32.24p/kWh.  Still makes an overall difference, with my below average consumption, in favour of reverting to the SVT/EPG cap by circa £37 per year if I want to decide purely on cost.  So it appears that they are not dropping all the way to the cap for some dual-fuel fixed tariff customers yet (if indeed they were ever going to do so!).

Are you on a fixed tariff or on the variable Next Flex?  If fixed, what tariff version are you on?  I assume you must be East Midlands region as these match the cap exactly.

Has anyone, as yet, please, seen an E.ON pay-in-advance Economy 7 tariff? My mother is in the Midlands. I want to see whether that would work out cheaper for my mother than the monthly direct debit tariff. It would be cheaper if it were in line with EDF prices.

I've just checked mine and this is what I've got for an electricity only tariff in the Eastern Region instead of my V.18 fix (54p/kwh + 40p/day s/c)

    Next Flex

    Fixed term ends 13/08/2023

    35.06 p/kWh 38.94 p/day

    (All rates inc. VAT)

so I'm quite a bit better off (relatively speaking  :D) as I'm getting 19p off the unit rate and 1p off the v.18 s/c. Eon could have just knocked off the allowances from the v.18 fix)

The cost of my 7500kwh has dropped from an estimated £4200 a year down to around £2800 ( still a lot more than the £2300 that I was paying before I fixed the but with the £400 I'm almost back)

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

    Variable next flex.

So can I take it you have binned v18 in favour of next flex?  These electricity rates (35.06 p/kWh 38.94 p/day) for Eastern region are identical to the ones published some time ago by EDF/MSE.

That is exactly my rate for eastern region too. Why a couple of pence higher than other regions, I do not know - but a darn sight better than 52p
