Site back up and they have now removed tariff information pointing you to check e-mails.  Incorrect pricing still available in the app though.

And as of this morning, the site is still up yet the tariff information is back, and still at the old Ofgem rates.

I know it’s not important and I know the bills will be ok, but this level of messing around by Eon is ridiculous.  Are they really this incompetent?

What is your contractual tariff for v19, the one you signed up to?

I can do all the arithmetic  - my issue is that having seen all the obviously incorrect bills on here and Twitter, I just don't trust them!

Yes, why on earth was the website down for 24 hours, when everything looks exactly the same?
I actually don't trust that the bills will be correct.

It is important if you are on an E7 version of a fix and you want to know whether the day/night balance is to be maintained. In my case, (Next Online v15) the breakeven point is just 6% night usage, which is extraordinarily low and it meant that I requested to go onto the dual rate rather than be billed at the single rate for both day and night units. If they are to maintain this split, fine. If not, I will need to move back to the single rate and - I think this is important even if others disagree - if I had been given proper notice of such a fundamental change it would have been an easy and quick decision to jump back immediately to the Next Flex tariff and pay lower rates in September.

As I said, if the day/night balance is being kept at the same level, that'll be fine. But I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to be told.

I haven’t seen any incorrect bills, would you be able to point them out to me?

I have seen several screenshots of incorrect online tariff labels, but that’s a different and much less important thing.
  • I've just been given my renewal quote from Eon as my fixed term is due to run out on 31st October, but the charges that they are offering me are higher than the price cap, see below:

    Electricity:
    £0.52 per kWh
    Daily standing charge: £0.56

    Gas:
    £0.10 per kWh
    Daily standing charge: £0. 33

    Is this correct?

If that is the variable tariff then it just looks like they haven't applied the EPG reduction to the electricity rate yet.
You are going to get some weirdness over the next few days as there is a lot to be updated, but existing systems still have to produce emails, so there will be some mixed messages.
As it is a renewal notice, if they are still offering a fixed tariff that will also be on the notice, so be careful to make sure you are looking at the right numbers...

Yes, but don't forget you'll be getting a £0.17 reduction in the electric, so you'll effectively be paying around £0.34 / £0.35 per kWh, but if this is an estimate and not a tariff you are already on, it may be withdrawn considering they are trying to adjust all their tariffs at the moment. You might also be better off on the SVT as I think the SC is less.

I’ve had an email today from Sainsburys Energy (Eon Next) as my fixed tariff is ending on 5th Oct to say they have updated their prices in line with the Government price cap and to check my online account for the new SVT.
There is no update on my account. It still quotes the much higher rate that it did weeks ago.
I managed to get a reply from them on social media saying they are still in the process of updating their systems but don’t know how long it will take for that to happen.

They are their own worst enemy. The fact that they have incorrect pricing information on peoples accounts is generating a huge increase in the volume of work they have to do as customers are contacting them constantly about it.

What's even worse is that they haven't even published the revised rates for existing fixes - this might not matter too much for the majority on single rate electricity tariffs, but it is vital for Economy 7 customers. If I find I have been disadvantaged by a change in the day/night split without even being informed about it for several days after the change has been made, I shall certainly be taking the matter up with them.

What is the problem with them just publishing the revised rates, even if they are having trouble with the programming needed to revise online accounts?
