Anybody interested should download the Octopus app which will give you the half hour prices for your region.I used to be on Agile and then it became untenable for me as it was basically 35p all the time. I have solar so using Go with an overnight cheap rate made more sense. But it is all a very individual decision based on your circumstances. With an EV to charge and doing lowish mileage I've a fair bit of flexibility. With the arrival of the autumn and winter winds the situation will change again as we have just seen. There is no charge for changing, although there is a time limit before changing again which I can't recall off the top of my head. It's a situation that may well be worth keeping an eye on.1

The latest version of Agile has a product cap of 78p/kWh.silverwhistle said:Anybody interested should download the Octopus app which will give you the half hour prices for your region.I used to be on Agile and then it became untenable for me as it was basically 35p all the time. So even with the EPG discount (makes it 61p) this is unlikely to suit most users, even with some periods of low cost or plunge prices1 -
With an EV you made the right choice as off peak rates are guaranteed.silverwhistle said:Anybody interested should download the Octopus app which will give you the half hour prices for your region.I used to be on Agile and then it became untenable for me as it was basically 35p all the time. I did the maths comparing 35p agile to octopus intelligent, and I assumed the latter would be ahead due to the insane off peak prices but actually turns out on averaged out cost they not far apart with Agile having the cheaper peak costs and cheaper SC.
For those of us with no EV I feel Agile is great, its just a shame the cap is so high on the latest one now,2 -
Not quite plunge pricing, but down to 2p overnight.
20p ish mid morning to mid afternoon.

Battery top up and washer/dryer overnight again then. Hubby gets up for work at silly o'clock (3.15am!) and can switch the clothes over

I am even looking at adding an immersion timer, to the never used heater, as the break even (Vs gas) will be soon if we get more of these days.Alnat1 said:Battery top up and washer/dryer overnight again then. Hubby gets up for work at silly o'clock (3.15am!) and can switch the clothes over

I am too. From March to October I use spare power from my solar to the immersion, but I switched the boiler on manually today for half an hour for some extra hot water and the frequency is likely to increase.

I've set an alarm to remind myself to start the dishwasher at 8.15pm with a 6 hour delay (it only does 3, 6 or 9 hour delays) It hits the heating mode after 20 minutes so should get the 2.30am 3.4p slot and then the next heat period for drying should hopefully hit the -2.8p slot. Am I crazy? heheBarnsley, South Yorkshire
